Author Topic: Add Ons Problem  (Read 2408 times)

So, I have been installing add ons, and they are for some reason not showing up in game.  They are in my add ons folder, but they cant be selected in custom game?

If you're unzipping them, don't. Their supposed to be zips.

Yeah, I don't.  I use WinWar.

Nevermind, I use .zip now, but it still doesnt work!

Your game is running on steam right? did you put it in the right folder? explain

Makes no difference, they are only zipped for file sharing purposes. Are you putting the files in the folder named "Add-Ons" and restarting blockland after placing them there.

Yeah, I restart Blockland after placing them.  But it shows that there are no new available add ons to choose from on the custom game menu.

I'm placing them in the right folder, the Add Ons folder, but they still dont show in game.

Alright, update: I noticed that my downloaded add ons are not only compressed zip folders, but they have the shortcut symbol on the bottom left of the add ons.  Does that change anything at all in game?

When you download the add-on, DON'T uncompress, unzip, take the files out or anything. Leave the file as it is downloaded and do not touch this. Simply drag it into the Add-Ons folder which is located here on steam:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Blockland\Add-Ons

Located here on non-steam:
C:\Users\*UserName*\Documents\Blockland\Add-Ons

Just put the .zip file which should be named something like: 'Weapon_Gunname' Or 'Client_script'

Actually, it doesn't matter wether the file is in a zip file or a folder. They're only put in zip files to better share them.

Okay, I figured it out, I noticed that my .zip folders were shortcuts instead of regular files, thank you all for your efforts in helping though! have a good day!

How does that even happen?

Well I didn't want OP to be unzipping the files inside the addon straight into his add-ons folder. It's better to just tell him to simply drag the unmodified file into the add-ons folder, rather than telling him to extract it into a folder with the same name, and put that into the addons folder.
