Author Topic: Would you want robots to take over all work?  (Read 3264 times)

But you're not really talking about more or less jobs if I see what you say correctly, you mean bringing the jobs back to the countries "they belong"? Or do I see that wrong?
what? I'm talking about why your assumption about the point I was trying to make was wrong. where did you get that about jobs being where they belong?

jobs are important right now. more jobs would be a good thing for us at the moment. they're not getting replaced by robots that will make our lives easier, they're just getting replaced by people in foreign countries who don't get paid a fair amount of money
This kinda implies you wanting to create more jobs at "home", instead of creating jobs that will get filled by foreign industries?

no? it kinda implies I want jobs to get replaced by robots

Yeah "want" but as you said that's a far away goal, since "we can't do robots yet".

Well, a robot take over could also lead to a future where people work on what they want to work.
No more will we be forced to take a job because it pays or will we have to worry about what a job pays, but we would be able to choose what we want to do.
That would be the perfect way that could go IMO.

Alternatively, it could end up in a huge disaster and we get the situation of "I, Robot".

"want"
pls in the name of jesus christ our lord and savior quit with the quotation marks

that has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not I want something
I would really like to see an actual alien at some point. and that is absolutely not gonna happen in my lifetime. but that doesn't change anything, I still want it

"I" "think" "we" "are" "done" "here"

Night Fox is considering a utopia where Robots do all the work, but humans can also join in at any time as they want, and not have repurccusions should they stop, because there will always be robots to take up your workload.

Which, in a utopia, is an ideal concept. You only have to do what you enjoy, and the world carries on turning even if no one enjoys doing a job or can do it, since the robots are also there.

Correct?
None of this is talking about bringing in robots for work today, or anything like that. Just an ideal hypothetical world.

Oh woops, didn't read the previous posts.
Foxscotch seems to have the exact same idea.
It is pretty much the ideal situation IMO.

Robots should do labor jobs, humans do service jobs.

I'm admittedly one of the people who has a slight fear of possible ROBOT OVERLORDS so no. ;~;

So basically Wall-E.

i have seen enough star trek to know, that no economy world would be horrible.
people just raising families and painting pictures and thats it.

*vomit

As a resident robot I agree with op, but that would require EVERYBODY TO BE ROBOTS MWAHAHA
