it is literally just a loving video game holy hell
you guys are acting like this game is going to start the next genocide

Video games have been the center of behavior studies and a topic of controversy since they even came into production. Video games are quickly rising to a very important market and industry in the modern world, as the international video game industry revenue is worth somewhere around $81,500,000,000 as of 2014. This is 2x as much as the 2013 film industry revenue, and 8x the US 2008 music industry revenue. It is a dynamic industry, constantly being modified by games pushing the boundaries and accepted norms of video game content.

Yeah, ""just a video game"" guys, nothing worthy to discuss here.

no, it's not that there's nothing worthy to discuss here
it's the fact that everyone is getting worked up and acting like every kid that plays this game will become Riddler/protagonist with a name not worth mentioning apparently
it's extremely absurd
like seriously did you even read my posts

Neither Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto encouraged Flash Mob, there was not a single driving factor in either of those games that forced you to kill innocent people.

yeah i think people keep forgetting the no russian campaign mission in mw2

Most behavior patterns are developed in adolescents. If we take mobile phone users out of the gaming demographic we'll find that the majority of people who play games are adolescents. There is reason to believe that this game could deliver negative messages to people, and some people might like to discuss that without being told that it's completely impossible. I personally air on the side that it will have no negative affect on children but I'm not going to march around with a holier than thou attitude because, at the end of the day, neither of us have gotten past a hypothesis.

Can you prove to anyone that it is such an absurdly incorrect notion that children playing violent video games will not make them in any way violent? No, you can't, because somebody already proved you wrong.

Congrats on just repeating to me the argument that's been countered in this thread on almost every single page yet.

You didn't have to pull the trigger on an innocent civilian even once in that mission. It was not required at all. You could even skip the mission. Some countries banned the mission, and in others the mission was modified to fail when you shot a civi. Yadda yadda, you can find this explained again and again and again and again in previous pages.

Not to defend CoD, but it wasn't necessarily encouraged. In certain countries you would fail the mission for shooting the crowd, the mission was completely removed in Russia, and a "skip level" button was added.

I'd also argue that the stuff you see in-game as you person the massacre would make a lot of people probably want to stop half-way through.

keep in mind that the first of the bobo doll experiments was within children aged 41 months to 72 months
which is about 2-5 years old
do you really even loving expect a parent to let their 2-5 year old play a game called hatred that has multiple negative review due to the graphical content of the game
bring logic into the situation please

when i was 3, i was playing rayman 3
not loving gunbros 4: the revenge of the lone ranger

i will defend this game until the day i die

Keep in mind that behavior trends and development, believe it or not, continue on through the development of the brain. They do not stop at 72 months. The bobo doll experiment is just an example.

I never said anything about a parent letting a 5 year old play violent video games. Although, we do know it has happened in the past.

Bring any level of respectable cognitive function into your thought process if possible, please.

Anyways I'm %100 sure this game is just neo-national socialist drivel.

are you even reading my posts at all or are you just trying to force into every reply an insult to my intelligence

Sounds like something someone would say when they don't have a counter-point. I'd come back with a response calling you out on your hypocrisy, but it's really not worth the time.

Thanks for playing.

What if the game is ridiculing people who kill innocent people even when it's not required by the game?

itt: people not actually reading anything and assuming everyone is mad about mature people becoming terrorists for no reason

i have no idea how this assumption could exist on a forum dedicated to a video game (meaning the people on here probably actually know what a video game is and what it feels like to play one)
