I don't even get how the whole "Oh lolol thinner is better rite guys" thing is good. I've always felt like the iPad 1 was just about the right thickness, and was the most comfortable to use. The only problem was the weight; that thing feels like a brick. The newer iPads seem flimsy and easily breakable, and the side buttons(volume, power, etc) feel awkward to use because they're at an angle. But hey, they got that weight issue down, apparently.
Other than that, I still feel like Apple completely dominates Android at the tablet market. Android just doesn't seem to work with tablets very well. Actually, no. It really depends upon what version of Android you're using, really. That Nexus 9 tablet looks pretty interesting.
