Author Topic: I bought a PS Vita  (Read 2211 times)

The new slim one (weirdly, the only non-slim PS device I ever had was the PSOne). Got it for $259 with 5 games free. I had the choice of either:

A) Ratchet Trilogy (which I have for PS3)
B) Some fighting game
C) A 5 game pack (Batman: Origins, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Killzone Liberation, Playstation All-Stars and an Uncharted game) with an 8GB memory card

I'll review playing games once they've done downloading on this stuffty internet, but so far so good. This is actually not bad as a successor to my broken PSP.

I had the white normal one since 2012 it's really fun and minecraft just came out for it. My favorite games are killzone liberation call of duty declassified and the sly collection and lbp from time to time.To bad I have no idea where the charging cable is

and people make fun of the wiiu for having a small library of games

Just bought Daxter, the old PSP classic. That's what made me love the PSP more than the DS, so I'm glad I can finally play it again.

I might get the Ratchet & Clank PSP games now. Dunno.

According to Wikipedia there are 799 games for the PSVita, and only 455 games for the Wii U.

i take it back

Weird...if I hold the device up, it downloads at 1MB/s, but if I put it on the table, it downloads at a fraction of that...

I'll have to test at home, but I think it's just the school's fault.

you should get Wipeout 2048

i like you
There's only 5 skill points in the entire Ratchet & Clank franchise I've never managed to get. Those loving Qwark Vidcomic speedrun times are impossible :/

you should get Wipeout 2048
Noted, thank you :)

Ah man there are a lotta good games on that list! I got myself Gravity rush whenI got my Vita and had super fun flying around with the motion control!

You should try Soul Sacrifice too, I dunno what's new in delta but it's a really cool game with a pretty unique magic casting mechanic

URRRRRRGGG And if ya like Visual novels try ZERO ESCAPE: Virtues last Reward and Danganronpa. The former is a reaaaaaaly trippy story about a group of people stuck in an unknown facility trying to escape that forces you to ally or betray strangers, it's the sequel of the series so you should play the first one first (although I think it may only be available on the DS). The latter is pretty similar, it's about a group of students who.... er... are stuck in an unknown facility.... trying to escape... the forces you to trust or betray strangers...

Either way both are super good games.

The PS Vita is a pretty nice system, even if it's losing popularity.

LBP PS Vita is an obvious choice if you like the PS3 one and want to take it on the go.
I would NOT recommend any FPS games for it, despite having 2 sticks since console FPS games are always dirt poor compared to PC ones.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz is pretty same-y compared to recent SMB games and the gimmick of the "level-creating camera" will only keep you playing for so long.
If you like Spelunky, the Vita has a pretty good port of that game for handhelds. (You only get the Vita ports if you want to play a game on the go, but even then, some ports are bad.)
Terraria is a good port of the PS3/360 one, AND you can cross-play online with the PS3 one.

Those are my few bits. Even if I don't mainly use my PS Vita for handheld gaming, it's got the games I want.
