Author Topic: Blockland Forum's issue with Ebola and Autism  (Read 4462 times)

I think we all know the new disease, Ebola. And yes, now some parts of Africa are 100% vulnerable to this tragic fate. Hundreds are dying as we pass. And we, are living peacefully, in America, or Australia, on our computers; just to make fun of it.

This has gotten already into my concern that people don't understand what Ebola is, or they do, just they feel like for fun. Ebola is not bad as it looks, but look at the concern of them spreading it. You all need to understand, Ebola is a thing were not supposed to joke. People are dying and loosing their lifetime experiences, even KIDS. We all have relatives and friends we would want to have time with the most, and peoples lives are ending, leaving their spare time to shred.

Another big concern is autism. I haven't seen one thread NOT mentioning the word 'Autism'. Seriously, this isn't even a thing either to joke with, have you ever experienced it? It's extremely bad for someone to be dulled and not be like us. Thank yourself that your alive, healthy and free. Look at Africa, Syria, all the least livable countries. They are dying, while we on our latest technology, making these problems a joke.

Badspot should really do something about this concern.

What do you think?

I really can't help but think you want him to fix the world

AIDS/HIV is a bigger threat to you than Ebola lets get real people.

what exactly do you want him to do about ebola

for just pennies a day, you can protect yourself from Ebola

People are joking about Ebola here, he should make a rule of sort.

im not sure about you guys but i enjoy these new changes

The joke here is that complaining about joking about Ebola and Autism is now in and of itself another joke about Ebola and Autism.

This, pretty much. That's why we still use 'handicapped' and 'monday'.

Hey, Mr. Sensitive, most people with autism aren't actually dual-diagnosed with mental handicapation. Most people with autism take offense when people group them in with a disease they don't even have. So much for being sensitive to the disabled, handicap.

Yeah, it's almost like people don't realize that ill-timed jokes are one of the leading causes of the Ebola outbreak.

What difference does it make if we joke about it? Us taking it seriously isn't going to stop people from dying. Do you think the people who are dying from Ebola really care about whether or not some kids in foreign countries who can't give them a moments solace from their agonies are saying, "Damn, that sucks," or, "Lol, Ebola"? It's not like we're dealing with a disability here, it's not like we're ridiculing people who have to live with people making jabs at their condition for years to come. They're going to die, and if they don't die they won't have the condition anymore. We're not hurting any feelings, and we're not working against Ebola.

800-plus deaths from Ebola in Africa so far this year
Since the Ebola outbreak began in February, around 300,000 people have died from malaria, while tuberculosis has likely claimed over 600,000 lives. Ebola might have our attention, but it’s not even close to being the biggest problem in Africa right now. Even Lassa fever, which shares many of the terrifying symptoms of Ebola (including bleeding from the eyelids), kills many more than Ebola

Humour is designed to air out the problems we face in society.

One thing I've always found is that people who don't have a problem tend be offended on behalf of those who do, even when those people don't care.

Seriously, I know many cripples, people of different race, mental dispositions, loveual alignments etc, and the only time humour was inappropriate was towards a mentally handicapped sister of my friend, which my friends and I were all smart enough to know and as such it a warning wasn't necessary. All my other friends and people in public just laugh it off because they know that if you allow yourself to get offended over a joke, you're holding everyone back, and making a big deal out of mild entertainment.

I loving tired of this PC-generation that feels like we need to label everything with safety warnings and cannot have a bit of fun because they're so worried about the feelings of others, when in fact what they're saying is that they think other people are weak and that they need to be protected.

forget off. A joke is a joke. Have a laugh, or shut the forget up.
