guys 1000 a week
that's like 5 grand a month. what bills are you exactly paying because its time to rethink this. change to cheaper plans or whatever. you shouldnt be blowing through 5 grand a month with a snap of a finger.
Yes! This is exactly why I say they need to budget.

My dad makes in the upper $40s a year, (IDK exactly how much, plus it fluctuates). We easily feed a family of 7, have two fully paid for cars (a 2006 and 2008), we live in a house that we're currently paying off, my parents partially own another house that my grandparents live in. Based on what you said ($1k a week), that's $52,000 a year. Were is all that money going?

You guys really need to start budgeting...

i don't know if it's 1000, but our bills are:
gas
water
electric
cable
internet
2 cell phone bills
PS+
lunch money (technically this isn't a bill)

and whatever food or luxuries we buy

Again, assuming that it's just you and your dad here; I think it's more important that you have food to eat than cable or a phone...

all of those should not cost that much to leave you with nothing

maybe change your cable/internet plan to something cheaper. plenty of small companies offering great speeds and bandwidth for fractions of other prices from big companies. same goes for phone bills although those are a bitch with cancel payments.

maybe cut down on energy and water usage.

or maybe stop betting it all on poker tournaments then losing

Heres what you do:
Snip the phone bills and go with a land line. Cut down on luxuries. Stop blowing 5k a month.
You make more a week than we do a month yet we still manage to usually have dinner.

Thats just some basic stuff though, most (if not all) are monthy bills and not weekly. Ask your dad how much the rest is for the house because something must be wrong if you guys can barely afford food with just those.

Plus you did say yourself that you guys overeat, which could be a problem.

PS+
cigaretteet, get PC games!

And complain to your school and try to get them to give you free lunch over there if you're nearing starvation on 1k/week.

He shouldn't be starving on nearly 1k a week though, especially if I'm right about it just being him and his dad...

ok, so here's more stuff:

rechecked any things coming from dad's company, we get $930

that's less than 1000, and not much still

cutting cell phone bills (mine and my father's) would be catastrophic (well, to him)

that removes texting, phone calls, and other things he does on there, which he's been used to for years

we've stopped luxuries, but we usually go to the store or something and get something over the weekend, maybe go to the city museum, etc.

i don't know of any internet bills around here, and cutting cable now would remove internet too (not fully paid off bills). we have charter. if there's any other internet places around crestwood, let me know ASAP

we're trying to cut down on food, but we get so much stuff
burgers, french fries, party pizzas, other stuff that's unhealthy, but we can't afford the other foods

water usage is tough considering i drink it a lot

we don't gamble and i know that's a joke

and to everyone: yes. it's just me and my dad.

also PS+ isn't mine. that's my dad's. plus he has gamefly.

so you live by yourself with your dad?
CANT LIVE OFF OF 930 a week? 2 PEOPLE?
MADNESS

find a farm and steal crops

wth just you and your dad on 930 bucks every 2 weeks
there's gotta be more stuff your dad spends the money on

Thats not how free lunches work. You have to be below a certain annual salary for them to give free/reduced lunches and how many people are in the house.. I think here it was somewhere below 40k for a family of 4

-snip-

Now, is it $930 a week or every 2 weeks? It does matter. If its $930 a week, then you (were) making more than us in our old house and we are a family of 4 and we lived decently.

Ok. Stop with the junk food. While it seems cheap to you at first, often that kind of food is actually a lot more expensive than you realize. If you buy individual ingredients, you can make a big pot of soup or a casserole and have left overs, plus it will be healthier.

~48k is enough for my family of 7 to live decently. I think you and your dad need to figure some things out if you don't have enough food and he's making $48,360 a year.
