Author Topic: look at halo 2's remastered gravemind cutscene  (Read 2742 times)

in all seriousness chief's animations while being moved around with the tentacles looked really awkward
but the gravemind actually looking like SOMETHING is pretty nice

To be fair, he's like a 2 ton piece of metal being restrained by thinish-looking flesh tentacles. It's gonna be all awkward and unbalanced.

Here's an experiment. If you had a long piece of steel wire and wrapped it around something heavy (but not heavy enough to bend it immediately), and help it up, you would be trying to balance the wire a lot. It looks almost exactly like how the Gravemind is holding him.

Yes.

Graveminds start out as proto-graveminds, which are lots of flood forms glued together. (like that one in Halo 1 with Keyes in it)
Proto-graveminds usually have some purpose, like piloting a complex ship. When that's the case, it may be made up of pilots.
Proto-graveminds share all of the knowledge and memories of the life forms that it may absorb.
It keeps accumulating more mass, and therefore more memories and intelligence, and eventually becomes self-aware.
That is when it becomes a true gravemind.

That's why the gravemind that met chief was a monument to all his (or the UNSC as a whole) sins. It was made up of the covenant he (or the UNSC) had killed.

im not gonna lie: never actually played halo 1 or 2 to conpletion but i have the remake of halo 1 so im gonna finish that in the meantime

I've played every Halo game except for Halo 2.

I'm not proud of it.

That's why he's a monument to all our sins. He is the conglomeration of everything killed.
