Author Topic: McJobless is getting a new computer. Goodbye craptop!  (Read 3910 times)

Ka-bump for rant time.

While it's nice going for the lowest prices, the customer service, website design, maintenance and all the other stuff is horrible. I was aware of what I was getting into, but it's still frustrating when it's $2800 and you have no way of knowing if there's anything being done with it.

3 days it's sat on "Processing", when it said multiple times they process in under 24 hours, and then the order is immediately shipped and arrives within 2-3 business days. Now, seeing as a few other people seem to have some orders currently that are taking a week or more to finish processing and ship, I'm assuming they've got technical issues at the moment.

What would be nice is if they actually had people respond to their emails, phone calls or in-website messaging. The most responsive place they have is their Facebook page, but they're currently overloaded and don't seem to reply at all to messages sent on Fridays...

Guess it's going to be 2 weeks before I can start building the stuff I need to get paid in order to pay off the computer I need to build the stuff I...and on and on.

and the heat it can reach at times is actually a health hazard. And it's literally disintegrating.
If it gets too hot, it can eventually cause sterilization, at least, from what I've heard.

ummm, this is just a suggestion, but
Mint 17 or Trash, well thats if you can't afford Windows.

I like Windows 8.1, but 10 is where its going to be at.

can i have it im serious here i want it

HUGE MCBUMP.

Just got notification that the computer has finally shipped, and should arrive at my place within the next few days (either tomorrow or Monday). I'm looking forward to it :D

I'm already anticipating that happening and freaking internally, but for now I'm going to stay calm and hope for the best.

I've ordered more than a single computer's worth of parts and never had a DOA product.

Parts DOA rates are really low normally, but Australia Post is renown for not taking care of their packages, and MSY isn't exactly careful either. In fact, the only reason they now offer a warranty is because someone sued them for $200,000 a year ago when one of their parts was DOA but MSY told the customer they weren't going to do anything about it.

It's a latent fear, and I'm sure everything will be okay, but that said...

IT'S ARRIVING TODAY. THE HYPE IS REAL.

My guess it the assigned courier will pick it up at the Seven Hills depot at about 6:40AM or so, and he'll make his merry little way around here by 10PM if it's the good Asian driver I really like (he's a funny dude and he takes good care of my packages), or later if it's the dodgy Australian guy (doesn't give two stuffs and takes as much time as he wants, usually waits back after delivering my packages to have a smoko).
