why did you buy a gaming headset
I already have speakers, but the computer is in a place where it's really loud from other sources, so I want some headphones to use whenever I can't use my speakers without pissing other people off.

why did you buy a bluray reader
I have a stack of blu-rays, and I can't be bothered using the PS3 when I'll be spending most of my time here on the PC.

why did you buy a network card
Well, my logic was that because the modem is in another room, instead of having to do some tricky stuff to get the ethernet cable between the two, I could just use a wireless card and then not have to worry about somebody pinching my USB dongle.

Of course, that was the one part I didn't research, and people are reporting the one I bought is not Win8 compatible no matter what the company or Microsoft are saying. $20 lost.

Australia Post are handicaps and it's not coming till Monday.

Windows 8 is still adaptive, it will use Stock Wireless card drivers, they won't be as good as the ones for the card, but it will work.

Wow, forget em. At least the holidays are coming up so you can enjoy it more. :)

Let's hope this is correct this time.

No SSD...?
He got a hybrid drive, however I'm not an expert on them so I have no idea really what that means, lol.

He explained this in the OP
not rly no, i looked up the price and it's still $130 USD on the manufacturer's site.

I have plenty of spare SSDs already, so I wanted to try out a Hybrid.

Supposedly it's got a combination of an 8GB SSD and a 2TB HDD. The SDD part holds the most frequently used data, while the HDD acts like normal.

That's at least how I read into it.

$130 on the manufacturer's site =/= shipping, handling, tax and currency conversion (since the AU dollar was still weaker than the US dollar when I bought this).

Which makes it even worse! That's more like $180! Why do you have to live in Austraalia :(

Because even though prices are high, it does mean I get a higher average income and less guns pointed in my face  :cookieMonster:
