Author Topic: marijuana legalized in oregon  (Read 7266 times)

Yet, you'd probably still be pissed if it was outlawed.

as long as it doesnt affect my mouthwash im good

here's a .gov site on how marijuana use affects the body

Our understanding of marijuana's long-term brain effects is limited. Research findings on how chronic cannabis use affects brain structure, for example, have been inconsistent. It may be that the effects are too subtle for reliable detection by current techniques. A similar challenge arises in studies of the effects of chronic marijuana use on brain function. Although imaging studies (functional MRI; fMRI) in chronic users do show some consistent alterations, the relation of these changes to cognitive functioning is less clear.

Still my personal opinion is that drugs can be dangerous and I'd rather them not be completely legalized.
The problem is the making them illegal does jack stuff to prevent their use, all it does it cost money enforcing it, and put people in jail

Yes because it shows very truthful statements.
>government
>truthful statements

Yes because it shows very truthful statements.
That information has absolutely 0 citations in it to back up any of the facts that they claim in it. In order for information to be trustworthy from any source, including a .gov site, it needs to cite sources for all the claims it makes.

This isn't relevant at all to the topic at hand; but since you asked I'll gladly post it.

Alcohol is perfectly acceptable at amounts that the body can handle before going absolutely apestuff (drunkeness). A glass of wine at dinner is something completely different to drinking large, excessive amounts, which can eventually lead to drunk driving, stupid decisions etc.

Tobacco I don't really have an opinion on; as long as you're using it legally you're okay. I do believe it leads to lung cancer though.

why is your opinion on weed any different? you cant have it both ways
alcohol and tobacco are both drugs, just legal ones
>government

get your edge out of here

You're not the only one. I completely disagree with the legalization of any drug/currently illegal activity.
stuff, I got one upped in conservativeness.

I mean I don't want to keep something illegal becuase it's illegal, that's silly.
There has to be a benefit to it.

Or that the drug is highly more addictive than tobacco and alcohol?

Oh god this should cause a stuffstorm

but why should it be legal
The addiction (normally) does not lead to violence? You are not [potentially] harming anyone around you unless they're always around you when you smoke it.

Because unlike weed alcohol can be used at a safe dosage.

you clearly dont understand what you're talking about
you realize weed works in ways similar to alcohol, right? the more you comsume the more it affects you

if you're talking about the "recreational" usage, it has long-term effects

i mean yeah if you smoke like, ounces every day. a couple hits every now and then wont do anything as severe lol

i mean yeah if you smoke like, ounces every day. a couple hits every now and then wont do anything as severe lol
good point
I know someone who smokes it when he gets it (like once every month) and he seems normal. Only thing I've noticed would be mood swings and there's not really evidence that it's related to the drug usage.

I'll assume you just didn't see this cuz I editted it in:
Still my personal opinion is that drugs can be dangerous and I'd rather them not be completely legalized.
The problem is that making them illegal does jack stuff to prevent their use, all it does it move it's sale to black markets, cost tax money enforcing the ban, and put people in jail

Alcohol is far more toxic than marijauna/thc
Deaths from alcohol poisoning are fairly common, deaths from thc overdose are nonexistant

it has long-term effects

so does alcohol and tobacco, surprising, isnt it?
and even that is if you go out every weekend and get lit/drunk as forget
