26 weeks. The latest you can get an abortion under any circumstance is 24 weeks, that's only some areas in the United States and accounts for less than 1% of abortions. Elsewhere it's usually 18 weeks latest. There is no legal abortion procedure where the fetus feels pain.

Rarely in Canada will doctors perform after 20 weeks. You need to do it before the 12th has passed.

But what about circumstances where one life that is not developed would overrule a life that is developed? Surely the life that is developed should survive, as it would have more chance of continuing on to produce more life eventually?

As many said pages back, this is not a black-and-white issue.  However, we must go back to the issue of survival and reproduction, (I inconveniently left advancement out of the picture) if you are speaking of disability, then it comes down to a scenario.  In what case would these two, the more developed and the less developed compete for the right to life.

No, a fetus is a child.

And to get to the point where it can feel pain, it must first survive. Is it living then? If the mother kills it off before, it will never get the chance to be by your standards of what's "living", which is still bad.
