Author Topic: Another loving steam virus  (Read 6885 times)

I just decline every friend request from people with private profiles, level 1-3, or I don't have any friends in common

We need to make an infected list and quarantine them.

You are handicapped.
Since anyone can get infected, even best friends, that doesn't instantly classify them as "not worth your time" or "handicapped".
I stand corrected

Most drive-by-download attacks often have some sort of method of auto-executing the downloaded file via an exploit. I'd imagine this is the case here as well.

No, I think they typically require the user to open/execute the file.

well they made another variant of it!!

i wouldn't suggest trying to search that up

I clicked an old version of this but my antivirus and browser both stopped it.
And then I ran Malwarebytes and cleaned everything that was there.
Should be fine.

this is why i don't click on ambiguous image links

or accept friend requests from random people

Link redirects to a russian federation site
I don't suggest typing it in

So im pretty sure the .scr file doesnt automatically run, you have to open it itself, amirite?

Considering that most viruses hunt after valuables, all you really have to do is turn your backpack private and the steam virus shouldn't be a threat, just don't click any links.

I suggest keeping profiles private, they won't bother with you if they don't know if you're worth their time.

Since it's a bot I am positive it just messages everyone in the infected's friend-list without discriminations.
A virus is more humane than humans. Everyone gets messaged.
