Mattomanx's Unfairness

Story

I was playing on Mattomanx's server and was kicked for flying and jumping repeatedly around one singular building, considering there was a lot of action going on around it. Then banned for, you know, playing the game.

brown townyzation

If jumping around a place with adventure and action in the middle of a fight is wrong, sure, but that makes no sense. There's a lot to explore there. You shouldn't be worrying about me jumping around outside the building. If you say that a building is off limits to enter, and you stand outside looking at it, would that get you escorted off for just watching what they're doing? He didn't say it was anything secret, so what the hell?

Ban brown townyzation
"Quit whining"
what? speaking like an intelligent individual? is that bad?

"Follow my instructions, if you don't I have the authority to ban you"
You just told me that I was jumping around like an asshat, what gives? Don't you NOT have the authority to ban me considering you never told me to do anything.

"I don't feel like dealing with you"
I don't feel like dealing with the stuff you're producing.

The ban is for 10080 minutes, or 1 week.

I think the word you were looking for was "brown townysis," not "brown townyzation."

What was he hosting?

Oops.

What was he hosting?
Roleplay.

To be fair, a majority of hosts who host RPG's are usually stuff.

No offense to the good ones.

well why were you jumping around a building when he said not to

Maybe you shouldn't have argued with him when he said to stop. You're the one at fault here.

he wasn't arguing with him, he was defending himself and reasoning with the host about how unfair the ban was. it's as if you're insinuating he was deliberately trying to get himself banned.

He never told him not to. Where is your source for this?

If a hosts asks you to stop doing something then you should listen to them no matter how stupid it is.

No you shouldn't...? Some hosts have rather unreasonable demands, and common sense would dictate not to follow them (eg. host tells you to spam chat with "I like big ones up my hole"/host tells you not to shoot weapons when playing a zombie game).

He never asked. He only stated that I was flying around the building.

It's their server, not yours. If the host wants their server to operate in a certain fashion, no matter how stupid it is, they have the have the right to enforce their power in order to make sure their server operates in a certain fashion. If you don't like it, you can leave and start your own server.

Kick = Unreasonable
Ban = Somewhat reasonable, only because you were being a smartass.

He DOES have the authority to do whatever the hell he wants. It's HIS server. He is in control, and if you don't like that, leave, but you can't say he doesn't have authority. That's the same as breaking a law, and then telling a police officer he doesn't have the authority to arrest you.

"I don't feel like dealing with you"

Doesn't seem that way considering you went on to make this topic.

Look, you joined his server, with his rules. You broke his rule, he gave you a warning. You complained and he doesn't want to hear it. You shouldn't have argued with him and say "okay, sorry, didn't know!"

You are 100% in the wrong here.

He never told him not to. Where is your source for this?
He asked why he was kicked, and he was told "Because you were jumping around like an asshat."

If that doesn't automaticly click "don't do that again, that was bad" then you're a dumbass.

It's like a 5 year old grabbing something hot. It hurts, he learned not to do it again, if he does it again, he gets hurt again.

It's their server and they have the right to enforce any ridiculous rules as they please, and if you don't want to follow them, get out. If a host told me to do that or I get banned, I certainly wouldn't want to participate in that server.

I don't understand why people join a server and immediately think they don't have to obey the rules set by the host. Just pure idiocy and incomprehension.

Well, first of all, I agree that he is a bit abusive there, because his instructions do not seem very clear. He does indeed have the right to ban you, given that this is his servers with whatever rules he decides to create. I  jump around randomly in this game myself, it's just an entertaining pastime within the game to do whilst waiting for an idea to pop up or for something to happen.
