PS1 and PS2 use to have virtual icons of your game files, some were even animated. PS2 had a bunch of really cool looking models for their saves.
No one does this anymore.
The icons and models were really charming, but sometimes I wish they didn't bother with it at all. Those models alone would eat up so much of your precious memory card. Like for example AC4 has a static model and is 74KB, without the model it would only be 20KB. Breath of Fire V uses an animated model and is 239KB, without the model it would be 104KB.
Thankfully on the PS1 it didn't even really matter because the icon was so small in size and space that the PS1 didn't even really account for it anyway.
