At least the bullet spamming federation can send a component and effective army. They have the guts to take the fight to the bugs. The Imperium just throws flash light guys and some giant loving smurf mary sues to get eaten. The Storm troopers would have been killed by their own armor after tripping over a mouse droid.

i think the whole thing about the crossguards is for protection of the user's hands, because people who wield lightsabers have a tendency to lose them. though the parts that stick out could very well be cut off by another saber, which makes that idea pretty unlikely. they could very well be exhaust ports, too. the crystal could be poorly focused if the hilt was crafted improperly. it's been a concept for about 15 or so years, and i don't see why people waited to complain about it until now.
either way, i just hope we see a full on trailer soon.

considering that normal lightsabers have no crossguard the picture is trying to say the thing serves no goddamn point and that it has the same effectiveness as a lightsaber without a crossguard

cortosis is the metal apparently and that would be less practical because you'd be able to grab the lighsaber from either side of the guard and render it useless

it's resistant and can short out sabers for a bit but can also be broken by abuse from a lightsaber too

there's more than cortosis. mandalorian iron, sith stuff, etc.

Iirc in Star Wars - the force unleashed 2, they were captured (and possibly destroyed) by the rebels.
