Author Topic: If you made a computer virus, what would it's name and symptoms/effects be?  (Read 4505 times)

QuantumTyrannis

-Flashes BIOS  incorrectly and pretty much ruins the BIOS Chip requiring a replaceemnt
-Encrypts recovery partition and boot sector
-Keylogging
-Formats entire HDD
-Applications wont start
-On Startup (if you manage to get past the boot-sector), you get an FBI Hoax Virus thing
-literally replaces the sectors on the hard drive to a major fustercluck
-Spreads over SSH/SSL Connections by creating a replica key and using it to access other computers over a secure connection

Thats about all I can think of

Half of those things seem unnecessary if you're going to format the harddrive.

Lolufuked.exe

The webcam detects any snake (includes carrots) in the shot and starts recording, once finished it sends it to loved ones
Also it starts installing adware rapidly

i would make the user think his harddrive is at 95% at all times.
and he would go insane digging around trying to find out what is using it up.

XD

SHC
Installs itself into the BIOS of the system and spreads to device drivers, making a sort of 'hive mind' system that can check progress of it's copies spread throughout system parts
Every time the computer is 'turned off', the system will instead discretely propagate SHC via copying itself onto anything connected to the computer such as flash drives, external hard drives, and also across networks.
Every time the system boots, a counter ticks upwards, and after the counter hits a randomly generated number, the following payload activates -

- Stops the computer from booting into the OS, instead forcing the user to be stuck at the boot-up screen
- Stops the computer from being turned off manually
- Turns off any and all cooling systems within the machine, but still claims they're running
- Fudges any and all heat/cooling related data to prevent the machine from knowing it's overheating
- Forces all system components to do heavy-workload tasks such as filling the hard drive with garbage so that they overheat

Put onto flash drive, put enticing label on flash drive, leave flash drive at the doorstep of someone you don't like / inside the building of a company you don't like, wait.

oh my god

Every time you open up a shortcut, a random file from your computer is deleted.
It's like shortcut roulette.

502

Its a virus that causes memetic effects on the nearest person, and causes them to, against their will, to shoot the server with a 12 gauge, thus giving the error message to those attempting to connect to the server to get "502, Someone has shot the server with a 12 Gauge Shotgun. Please contact your system Administration for assistance"

Virus name - System 32

Will sit right next to the real System 32. It will cause the PC to open 10 of anything upon activation of them.

It is hard to identify which is which, as all codes within are in the same, but the fake has 1 letter more (which is the virus toggler)

switches computer to never sleep, and takes up a stuffload of memory under the disguise of "Host Process For Windows Tasks".

hideyourkids.shrekt

sends your home address, and phone number to all registered love offenders in the area
hacks your webcam so peeps can peep on you
lights your face on fire

Bossy.exe

Disguises self as a game
Inititating- When executed creates virus clones in this order when all are deleted
1 RECRUIT 1,2,3,4,5,6...
2 WORKER
3 CEO
4 BOSS
NOTE: If all file stages are not deleted it will execute below symptoms and slowly take up your memory space
1- When all file stages are deleted it seems that there is no virus but it is slowly erasing all files and replacing them with Bossy
(ALTERNATE TO NOTE)1- Gradually over the months it should start replacing important files and erasing all old but important files
2- When it finally replaces system32 it replaces the screen with a BSOD and slowly starts to shut everything down including manual shutoff, keyboard etc
NOTE: Any attempts to reboot by unplug and replug automatically replaces the screen for 10 minutes with
"Thank you for choosing bossy We will now slowly infect other computers and gradually cause a system collapse"
3- After the 10 minutes the computer will be brand new but the virus will soon attack the internet service provider (spreading clones are placed as Trojans then)
The internet service provider for you will then stop working and then once that happens, all infected computers will be permanently have their screens replaced
with a screen saying
"Hello, Bossy.exe has infected and shut down all computers Have a good time buying new computers!"
The screen after 5 minutes will then turn to a Julia Fractal.
NOTE: Can only be fixed by buying a new PC and switching to a new service provider

Reaperson.exe

Once downloaded it will open hundreds of browsers forcing the user to try and exit the windows. While the browsers are opening it will steal anything from you're steam or anything you have on you're pc. It will then set the pc's desktop wallpaper to a smiley face, and delete everything on the pc. It will then replace all files and stuff with illegal downloads. Also it will find you're ip adress and phone numbers, then it will call every phone in the house. Upon the pick up of the phone call it will say "You're winner!", then the pc will completely shut down and so will the Internet.

SHARING.zip

It is a normal zip, with an exe inside called SHARING.exe and a notepad. The notepad is called SHARING.txt and on the inside it says "Sharing is Caring". When you run the exe, it will lock up your computer allowing you to only email. Antiviruses do not work, and it re-writes the BIOS when it activates so you cant shut down and start it up again. You have to send it to 30 other people in 24 hours or it will encrypt all your files for good, but if you do send it, it gets rid of it for you and the other 30 people have to go through the same thing. Once you send it, it fixes the BIOS back to normal, decrypts all your files and unlocks your computer once again.

exe_the_whatever_director-s_cut.exe

Makes it so that the time it takes the printer to print a paper is doubled, tripled if two papers, quadrupled if three, etc.
Replaces every icon to a smiley face
Every audio file is replaced by the sound which will turn up as this image in a spectrogram, looped for an hour a minute, full volume
Disables volume adjustment
0.5 second lag anywhere

Canada.exe
Replaces all text with "sorry"
After 10 minutes a dialogue box appears with the text "Sorry" and after pressing OK it deletes itself. Everything turns back to normal on deletion
