Author Topic: What's the true meaning of Christmas?  (Read 2095 times)

I know

I wanted to say it in a more appealing way, lol
But Jesus is the real OG.

It has no inherit meaning, only the one we as individuals assign to it. I personally believe it's about being with family and having fun, but someone else may have a different perspective.

It is a derivative of solstice celebrations

Christmas originated... as the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
No it didn't
Every aspect of Christmas, from the spiritual claims, to the secular ways it's celebrated, was taken from the winter time celebrations of cultures that came before Christianity.
Jesus's birthday was thrown in there to make it "Christian" when Jesus wasn't even born anywhere near December

If people want to celebrate it as a Christian event, they can go ahead. But people who whine "don't take the Christ out of Christmas" are obnoxious because their religion doesn't own the holiday, and Jesus wasn't even in there to begin with

That was more of a rant than something directed at you but whatever

to eat turkey while opening eggs and scaring little children

To brag about the stuff you got or looking at your parents in complete shame

To celebrate the birth of Yeezus

It's really about getting and giving presents and is most likely the most important family event if it's celebrated.

hang out with the family and get surprise presents yah B)
