Hello, fellow Blockheads. I am rebooting the Halo cadet roleplay Watcher In The Mist created. I am hoping that extending the invasion time, or even voiding the invasion and allowing for more open things such as missions to other planets and the like, would extend the RP. I am deciding to "slightly" go off the Halo lore train. I have some interesting things planned.

Here is a pretty nice excerpt from his OP I am too lazy to (completely) paraphrase:
Loosely based upon the events in the Machinima web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, this roleplay (!!!) takes place in the halo universe. Characters assume the role of a Cadet at the Corbulo Academy of Military Science. The squadron is Accipiter Squad and conducts frequent training exercises. They have standard Marine battle dress uniforms, and a CAMS uniform for clothes. They are armed with an MA5B assault rifle, blah, blah, blah.

Basically you take the role of a cadet in a military academy filled with a bunch of teenagers. You are in Accipiter Squad. This is going to be your first day. Don’t muck it up, or the seniors will target you or the leaders will think low of you. Please mind that teenagers means 14, 15, 16 year olds. No 30 year olds please.

Oh, and I just forgot, no one in the squad is the "instructor", this squad is the last one to actually be signed up and they don't have any nice cadet graduates to help us. All they have is a big mean drill instructor. Not really mean, but you get the drift. Prove yourself to your leaders and you might just be assigned as squad leader.

This is also a male specific squad. In these RPs the first thing people do is attempt to make a bad ass female character that goes around seducing everyone. Cadet schools, for the most part, always pull apart male and female characters. Yes, I know, in the movie the squad has both boys and girls, but I am actually going to try to do reflect on these type of officer schools.

0630: Gear Up/Exercise Briefing
0700: Exercise Begins
0800: Exercise Ends, if it finishes before 0800 then soldiers have more time to get out of gear

1100: Classes End
1200: Lunch
1245: Freetime (we do a time skip here if nothing is happening)
1600: Classes
1800: Classes End
1801: Freetime/Homework
1900: Dinner
1945: Freetime/Homework
2100: Curfew
2130: Lights Out


Meta/Other:
Intelligience regards towards academic grades and standings.
MK/TR regards towards the ability to lead on the battlefield via wits and the ability to plan. This alone doesn't make you a leader.
Strength is obvious.
Cryogenic Tolerance in sense regards to your ability to properly handle Cryogenic Pods. If you have a low score, expect to get sick and/or embarass yourself in front of your peers.

and yes, this is an rp, not a forum adventure. meta rpg-ish information is to help me decide what kind of character you are and how the NPCs handle you. that stuff also defines your character.

I throw all of the rather comfy sheets off of me, rather tired, but the whole point of sleeping once we arrived made sense; we needed to get our sleeping scheldules rather in check with the planet's time. I quickly make my bed and retrieve a dark-olive CAMS t-shirt and a pair of black trousers. I put on some socks and quickly put on some boots. After the rush, I soon notice that all of my casual clothes I brought with me and changed out of were gone; I guess we aren't allowed any attire other than what they want us to wear.

I stand at attention at the bunk of my bed, being one of the first to do so.
