grabby hands

this is really tubular, will this be an actual thing?

Well, can there be variants then? Taxi, Police. Those are standard on this common sedan.
Edit: Also, will the trunk be a seat for a player to lay down as if they are being abducted, or just a model? Lol.
Of course. Of all the vehicles that have ever got taxi and police variants, NOT turning the Crown Vic into one would be, like

blasphemy

The body in the trunk was just an experiment, I was trying to see if I could reasonably put a mount point in there, but it's too small; parts would clip through things even if the player didn't spin around

No, I ended up rendering that in the process of deciding whether to have lines between all the parts

Don't get me wrong, by no means am I against glowy lines, but this doesn't quite seem like the car to apply them to.

Sorry for having pictures that aren't related to what I'm actually planning on making

That's exactly why they should be there. In the past, glowy lights have always been exclusive to sporty-lookin cars for greasy-haired street racing punks, but now there's a chance to make tron lights for your average joe going through a mid-life crCIA!

those poor cars
it hurts to look at

Sorry, people who want add-on creators to stop flooding the place with cars.

(I feel like modellers should use their talent to do something other than slight tweaks to the same exact functional niche over and over)

well I'm just getting into this.

Mother ᅚᅚ loving ᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚᅚ Nice.

I don't know. That seems mostly for vehicles which have sporty aftermarket parts. I don't feel good about doing that to a Crown Vic.

the police variant using CVS
The police variant will need different wheels, stiffer springs, and a higher top speed

the drag variant with CVS
A drag variant would need ludicrous acceleration and possibly a different mass center

the nascar variant with cvs
A nascar variant would need to have a higher top speed and less sensitive steering

None of these variants can be accomplished with CVS. Not in a way that I'd be happy with, anyway.

Well you can use CVS to change colors from specific parts of the car to make some sweet color combos instead of more parts

If you do the drag variant, you should definitely add wheelies.
Never got around to actually trying myself, but, in theory, additional invincible pair of unpowered wheels on the rear bumper will make sure the car won't fling itself on the back of the collision box (and/or launch itself into space) (or maybe keep wheels visible to look as wheelie bars, that can work too), and I guess high center of mass and enormous acceleration would do the job.
