Extract the colorset.txt from the colorset's zip file, and then upload that to the /blockland/config/server/ folder, overwriting the one currently there. Then just restart the server.

Looks like Linode may be having an outage in their Texas datacenter, which is affecting the us4 node and a few dedicated nodes (and is also affecting my ability to check the status of those nodes). This is a really recent development as it has not appeared on the Linode status page yet. If the issue continues for more than a few minutes it should appear there.

I'll keep this post updated on the status.

Update: Linode has updated their status page and has marked a 'major outage' on both their management api and the Texas datacenter.

Update: Nodes in the Texas region including us4 appear to be online again.

For the last days of my month, I turned every single add-on off besides the default ones and a couple of scripts that other Blocknet servers use (that I have observed), and I still needed to turn it back on every day. This means that the Gamemode_CityRPG was not the source of the issue when my server would randomly crash more often than not.

If a server crashes due to this outage and is constantly crashing do they get reimbursed for the trouble or no?

Your crashes were not the result of this outage. The crashes you have been experiencing are almost certainly due to the runtime error crash that is currently affecting pretty much all servers on and off of BlockNet. I can't reimburse for a crash issue that has been affecting pretty much everyone due to a game issue.

Noticed that a lot of BlockNet servers are getting really bad lag issues right now. hm

Linode's Dallas datacenter is being ddos'd right now. It's been happening a lot more than usual over the past week or so. us1 and all dedicated nodes not located in texas should be operating fine right now.

Edit: Linode reported that the attack was mitigated just a few hours later.

I was waiting for a Blockland update since I figured that when Zebolite figured out the source of the runtime errors Badspot would have jumped on implementing a fix for that, but it hasn't happened. So I've temporarily disabled Blockland updates on the us4 node and replaced the main executable with Zebolite's patched version. I'll be doing this for us1 as well soon. If you have a dedicated node you'll have to explicitly request this change from me. This should fix runtime errors for the time being until an update comes around to fix the underlying issue.

The us4 node is currently offline while enduring a large scale DDOS attack. All dedicated nodes and the us1 node are currently fully operational.

Edit: us4 is back online.

The difference is peace of mind essentially. In the 10$ you share the same node with other servers and while the others behave, your server is just as smooth, but when others are chewing up resources, your server will get weighed down significantly as well. The way I see it, I would get the 15$ node if I was hosting a 24/7 server.

Servers won't interfere with each other's performance 99% of the time.

Bump. There has been an extraordinarily low demand for the high performance shared nodes recently (most people seem to be preferring dedicated nodes). Because of this I may remove the us4 node soon and consolidate all shared plan customers to us1 until demand for a central US server returns.

Hopefully, I will be able to pay and get my server started here
