Author Topic: Just had to put down my second cat in 8 days.  (Read 1540 times)

I know how you feel. I had a dog named Kodiak who was like me and my fiance's son. We had him for 3 years. When I took him for his usual run through the city in the morning, he just fell over dead. There isn't a worse feeling than carrying what is essentially your dead child through 5 miles of Chicago all the whilst sobbing.

i'm so sorry dude
i know the feel
about a year ago my cat started just vomiting all over the place and was getting pretty sick
i came home one day and i found him in the garage, dead with his own bloody vomit on the ground next to him
not the way to go for such a loving bro

This may feel a little inconsistent since I have dogs instead of cats. Still, I feel the same way when I lose a pet.

I had one of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels euthanized somewhere in October. Even though she was a bit old (age 10), her recovery was proven poor due to some complications; her white blood cell count was huge due to some infection, and her breathing was too fast because her lungs can't carry the sufficient level of air that's needed. After the euthanasia, the house just doesn't feel the same without her. It felt like it was too soon.

The only pet that I have left is my 13 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He's been with me ever since I was around 7-8 years old. If I were to lose him, the house is going to go dead due to the lack of activity. At least, I can find a puppy that would take its place in the house.

2014 felt like a stuff year, and I'm glad that the year has finally passed.

About five years ago, my 20 year old (at the time) cat Gracie passed away. Died on the way to the vet. She was the sweetest cat and put up with so much of my bullstuff. I didn't really cry myself, but my dad was in tears the whole day. We buried her in the back yard.

Fortunately, we were able to get another cat in about a month. Not as much of a lap cat, but we love her all the same. Hopefully you can find another companion in life as well :)

All in all, stuffty luck that you had to put down two cats... My condolences.

I had a 20 year old cat that was around my entire life and my mom put her down when I moved out for a bit. Her name was Sassy aswell. I loved that cat so much, I think about her every day. I'm sorry for your losses.

you're lucky your cat lived that long

I had a Blue sheltie Named Stormy and she had gotten arthritis from jumping off a truck bed and she lived with it for the next few years but she was moving so bad, In the middle of the night she died. I had to skip 3 school days due to it. I miss her and my original dogs I grew Up with But I have two Siberian huskies and they mean everything to me.

RIP Stormy
2004 - 2012

my deepest condolences. I have no idea what I'd do without my cat
He loves me more than anyone in the family because i take care of him, like petting and feeding him. He's the best, i hope i never lose him.

i understand this and it really sucks
i was supposed to put down my cat but she died before we could do it
she was having spasms and everything
my condolences

I balled my eyes out, especially at that last part because my cat does all those things.
I seriously hope I never lose my cat, my mom and my stepdad thought about getting rid of him and they did, but they gave him to my dad. Good thing joint custody is a thing.
