Women are plenty abundant on popular websites, like tumblr or reddit or facebook or twitter. But on websites with niche interests or "nerdy" (i hate this word but whatever) interests they start or started as male-dominated, which made them not appealing to women, esp. since loveism is so prevalent in lots of these places.
