Badspot is the one to be blamed
Does undoing an action make it unblamable?
Jesus christ, you kids just have to paint me as the villain in every story, don't you?
Here are the facts and conditions I was operating under:
- Malicious programs have been deliberately posted to the forums multiple times. RATs in particular.
- Previously sane users commit forum Self Delete practically every week.
- The principle behind virus detection is fundamentally flawed.
- The way the exe was posted was shady as stuff.
- The BLF contains many naive users who are vulnerable to the "hey run this cool exe" attack.
- Believe it or not, I actually care if a bunch of innocent people have their stuff ruined.
- I am the only one with power to immediately stop this class of attack.
Given these conditions, I felt I was morally obligated to take action. I suspended his accounts so that if he was actually going crazy, the damage would be minimized. Once all the facts surfaced and it appeared that he had not gone full skid, I reinstated his accounts.
