Author Topic: Skittlr, LGBT+ only social media platform fundraiser (past its goal of $100)  (Read 7977 times)

There's nothing wrong with wanting to create a forum where only specific demographic(s) can or should speak as long as you're not being some sort of elitist about it. I wouldn't use a site like this but I can see why someone would. Though ultimately it'd be best if everyone could tolerate everyone else, in real life it rarely goes as hoped.

I think you don't understand. Aloveual people can still be romantically attracted to people. Which means that, undoubtedly, loveual and romantic attraction are two different things! They probably match for most people, for example a homoloveual guy would most likely only be romantically attracted to guys, but it's still definitely a separate thing.
that's exactly the point
i'm not even going into romantic attraction right now

Now I don't understand what you're trying to say! The people you were talking to were both talking about romantic orientation, but you weren't?

i was responding to the fact that talking about this is a clusterforget
once again this is exactly my point

Even better: a biloveual person who may be romantically inclined to one love or the other. The person may be attracted to both genders, but that doesn't mean they want to be romantically involved with both.

A lot of people I know in the LGBT community reciprocate intolerance against intolerance, and they end up stooping to the level of the folks who bash them for being who they are, and a lot of times they take it too far and lump together straight people who are completely alright and innocent just because they're straight
ok that's nice but irrelevant from the point.

LGBT+ people know about heteroloveuality because it is the most common. Most assume they are straight at first.
Straight people are still trying to discern whether or not homoloveuality is a choice or not.

Basically you're saying that somehow every straight person knows of and recognizes what LGBT+ is before being told.

Way to group people up and assume "straight people" don't know anything about not being hetero

the only people who have to learn about being different are people who are part of the majority

hidden bias in the fact that kimon writes LGBT+ only instead of LGBT+ catering.

This is the fundraiser for the website Skittlr, a LGBT+ / MOGAI social network for trans, queer and questioning people of all ages.
when i make a topic for parkour enthusiasts, let's say, i would logically assume anyone who comes is most likely a fan of parkour. However, if i say ONLY for parkour enthusiasts, my intent was to make sure the people who come only conform to one ideal.

take the only out of your title:

and it suddenly becomes mundane and not crazy, and not worthy of mockery.

I'm straight and I know about LGBT+. The point is there are several people who don't.

That wasn't even a post trying to call out straight people in general, or say that straight people don't already recognize LGBT+? The only reason you take offense is because I didn't put "some" in the beginning.
Quit being such a loving baby lol.

Lol I was just giving you the same stuff you're giving everyone else in this thread, and guess what, you don't seem to be able to take it.

if that's the case then i have zero issues with this

hey, did you know there's a forum for ONLY Blockland players?!? How crazy that they want to conform to the ideal of having bought the game and wanting to discuss it

I don't understand.

Because the "everyone else" I was even addressing in the thread were two people.
Second, I'm not sitting at my computer getting offended because you're offended.

So what stuff are you trying to give me from this?

i wonder what the name is based off of
https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/cvDy8/ab/c4MqVd

unless im mistaken this is quite literally lgbt+ only, (theres no point otherwise) but anyways other questions you can probably find answered on the page. this got funded like immediately, although that's to be expected when they are only asking for $100

so yeah discuss that or something
or dont but i thought this was interesting and might be big news when it launches

I just don't see how this could work. Think of how many 4chan/imgur trolls can run in there and tear up the site. Also, with such a close - knit site, it'd be really hard to hide from bullies; average on facebook, common on this site to be LGBT.
