Author Topic: A playable instrument?  (Read 1722 times)

I dunno if it's been said already, but here goes nothing.

You equip your saxophone / quitar / synthed keyboard / trombone / whatever, then you press and hold different keys on the keyboard to play various notes. I dunno which ones, but seven keys for the normal notes, and two keys to hold down to make them a half note higher or lower.
And the noise could sound about as much as a speaker block does. However, not meaning that the noise would sound like earth shattering once you hold it close to another player's ear.

Not for fighting, obviously, mostly for entertainment. People could grow relatively skilled at it, hold contests, whatever.

Is this possible to pull off?

Having keybinds for it are more complicated than you think.
Theoretically it would work if you had a bunch of slash commands, but it'd be more complicated than it's worth.

I had a hunch it wouldn't be easy, ya.

Well, maybe if you use a keybind to turn on "Music Mode" in which you can press numpad buttons to play music, maybe it'd work.

Keyboard would be easy, use wrench events  :cookieMonster:

No, I'm from Sweden. I'm just very weird.

But no, I don't know much about coding.
Still, if there's any way to pull it off, it could be a blast for some.
