If you just want a good functional browser and you like google's services (gmail, drive, etc.) then use chrome or chromium.
If you want an incredibly extensible, modifiable, and customizable, browser then use firefox. With extensions and CSS and stuff you can turn it into anything.
There's probably a reason to use opera but I don't know it because I haven't used it.
Don't use IE

Why does everyone say IE is bad? I've been using it since I got my laptop and just recently stopped using it and I saw no problems with it?

IE got better when windows 7 came out (as in the previous versions were a stuff on a shingle)

But I'd recommend waterfox because 64-bit browsing masterrace.

I'm using Opera right now. It's pretty fast and lightweight.
Supports both Chrome and ordinary Opera extensions.

Anyways, just try a bunch of different browsers and see which you like best. None of us can speak for you.

From my personal, experience: Chrome takes up too much RAM; Google is always watching. Firefox has gotten slower for me, don't know why. IE is extremely too slow.

To everyone that says Chrome I want a browser that won't keep what pages I go to in an archive even when I delete history Because I don't want people seeing what kind of stuff I go to, passwords ,and other stuff.

IE being bad is a stereotype. Contrary to popular belief, it's actually quite fast.

It's not secure is my main gripe with it. Every few months or so a new exploit that allows arbitrary code execution is publicly disclosed, exploits that could have been used for months or even years without anyone knowing it. For example, in april of last year, this happened: http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-discloses-zero-day-in-all-versions-of-internet-explorer/

i use chrome and fireforgets

it is on win8 on my schools computers, can confirm

I hate the fact people say IE is bad, people should stop stereotyping it.

IE11 is really fast and you can get adblock for it, and that makes it a great experience, specially if your the type of person that doesn't or rarely uses extensions, I have no idea where people say its extremely slow, if its slow, IE can tell you what is causing it to slow down and then you can disable what is slowing it down.

I just want to make it clear that there are two versions of IE11:

IE11 Desktop
IE11 Metro

Metro IE does not really support Desktop Extensions so to get adblock on it, you need to add a privacy list, Fanboy's list is available for Metro IE also.

Seriously, don't bash it for its history, try it for a bit, just make sure you don't have toolbars, as their the worst things imaginable, and make sure you have the menubar and statusbar hidden so it has a clean and sleek look.

However please stay away from older versions of IE, like IE10 and bellow, that is where IE got a bad rep.

I use two browsers, IE is my main and Firefox is my secondary, I don't use chrome because google filled it with bloatware like all the g+ stuff and irremovable default extensions that are not necessary, not to mention the extreme ram usage and the fact it runs 4 processes in the task manager...
