Author Topic: How do I tell if I'm banned on steam?  (Read 1647 times)

So I foolishly clicked on a weird link from my friend, it downloaded a picture and I wanted to look at it, the next day, I had comments of the same link on 20 other peoples profile's and messages to all my friends saying the exact same thing, and I think I may have been banned.

How do I tell if I'm banned?

what was the picture
I couldn't see the picture because it didn't open up, but it was some TF2 inventory for sure.

There was no picture, it was malware disguised as a picture
In case the fact that he's now spamming the same thing to other people isn't a clue enough

Do a scan

Wasn't there a LOT of topics about these sort of trap links on steam before?

Would've thought that would've caused people to look into these kind of links before actually clicking them or something.

most of these traplinks execute a backdoor to send mostly dota 2 or tf2 items to the malware's creator.
also, the image you downloaded is pretty much the backdoor, so you pretty much executed a steam virus

You are really dumb.

I think I've had two people comment on my profile the "picture" you're talking about

If you're vac banned, it should say it on your profile page

I know from experience

somebody tried to leave a scam comment on my profile and i just deleted it lol
