True, true, but what're some good examples of these kind of games done wrong?

I don't know any specifics, just games that have collecting for the sake of collecting.

I had a feeling someone was going to post this. DK64 is if you got the idea of collecting things and multiplied it by 100 times.

So I made a little pros cons list in my head if my personal opinion comparing the newest released game (aka nuts and bolts) to its predecessors and other games of the genre.

Pros:
Allowed players to get creative and make custom vehicles
It gives an atmosphere where you actually want to find a ton of Easter eggs
Brought back characters we thought were dead

Cons:
Too different formula from predecessors
Breaks 4th wall
Lack of actual voice acting (did the originals have it?)

Cons:

First off lol
Second off no the original didn't have voice acting they just spoke gibberish which Banjo Kazooie is known for doing.  Also anybody who had an N64 back on the day would stuff bricks if they saw a game with full voice acting on the N64 in 1998.

Nuts & Bolts is the Starfox adventures for Banjo Kazooie which is actually ironic because Rareware did that game too. Like the game itself isn't actually bad,  but it shouldn't be apart of the series.

I hate you
dk64 was the stuff

Hey, don't get me wrong. I like DK64; I grew up on it, but it has waaaay too many collectibles.
