The game is CPU-intensive.
Like very CPU-intensive on larger machines.

Yeah, probably due to physics calculations. If they can somehow offset part of the load to the GPU then that would be really cool

Yeah it is very CPU intensive. If your machine is getting laggy then I recommend lowering the timescale just a tad bit, like 90%. You'll hardly see a difference in speed but you'll gain like 30fps.
