They aren't going to fire the guns into a protest.
Everyone has the right to protest, but there is nothing against encouraging a protest to breakup.

Also, they shouldn't have to hire more people than they have to save people's feelings.

i also get scared when peaceful protests turn into people throwing rocks and bottles, but when the cops start to come into it, people seem to get even angrier, so i don't know.

i still think the nypd needs to do more research before they do something, not to generalize. that's why people get hurt.

Okay so first off, I'm pretty sure that the reason there's being a militarized response is because most if not all of the protests lately have NOT been peaceful. As an example from the ferguson "protests": Lootings, robberies, pyros, people throwing rocks at police officers and literally wishing death upon them. And that's just what I saw looking at brief amounts footage of the so called "protests."

I never watched any livestreams of the eric garner "protests" but I'm almost certain that they're similar to the ones at ferguson, feel free to correct me here.

Only the person writing the article said it would be used on protesters, So to our knowledge they will never use these new things unless its a big riot.
