Author Topic: Can someone give me a weapons tutorial guide?  (Read 1150 times)

I really want to learn how to make Weapons, but I have almost no clue what anything in a weapon script means!

What I'm guessing would be most helpful, is copy-pasting the basic outline of one, and then commenting what each part does.

Trust me you can't just jump into coding. You need to learn basics beforehand.

Ok, I'm not just 'Jumping In'. I know a little more than the basics (I think), but just don't know how to make weapons. They just don't make sense.

You don't know more than the basics then. The only way is either looking at weapon codes (try to study what each does, some code is self-explanatory on what it says), or someone creating a nice tutorial on how to code weapons (making (modeling) weapons is completely different of course).

Try making some simple scripts first, that way you can learn how to work things.

Commenting what each part does.
I believe the Weapon_Gun does this in the server.cs. And I also believe that it is in fact the default gun where all the weapon/item add-ons beforehand probably had their start.

How do I make full-automatic weapons?

By editing the state timeouts in the weapons image.

Oh because at first I was just asking for a tutorial. I'll move it there for now.


You should post any request for anything coding related in coding help.
