Author Topic: New Built in Voice Chat Support for Blockland (No teamspeak/steam required)  (Read 3398 times)

Google voice recognition anybody?
The last thing I would want is google ad-tracking in Blockland.

No, all it has regarding "voice" is a generic voice command system (i.e. prerecorded lines that you can trigger).
Oh , it must of been a misunderstanding then, I thought that Torque had built in support but it was probably for Torque 3D, I will update the OP.

Hmm, this raises another question to me...could the voice chat from Torque 3D be ported to our older heavily modified engine?
I'm sure speech is completely separate from the way the engine handle Graphics or other things.

Relatively sure that Torque 3D does not have builtin voice chat. Its SFX system is better fit for it, but still.

Someone who shares my views on Google. Nice.

No?

So it would have to be coded from the ground up, and that would definitely be a large amount of work.
I'm sure it would be worth it though.

Alright, I'll re-post the thread in a few weeks, letting this one rest for now.
