No, that's the actual shape of a lot of viriuses. Jimmy Neutron was just scientifically correct in their drawing of a virus.

inb4 gothboy agreeing with the viruses

Who says viruses aren't just organic nanomachines? We're not even sure if they're alive or not.

Not true. Viruses aren't alive.

makes me wonder what defines alive

Viruses aren't alive because they are not made up of cells, which are considered to be the smallest unit of life. Instead they attach to a 'host cell', and inject their DNA or RNA. The host cell basically bursts out with new viruses, which then find new host cells.

Not true. Viruses aren't alive.
The answer to the question of whether or not viruses qualify as "alive" is still a subject of debate among modern biologists, and depending on which definition of "alive" you use, they could be said to go either way. They meet most of the technical qualifiers of life other than the ability to reproduce, although they do reproduce parasitically by modifying the genetic makeup of host cells. Whether or not this qualifies as an ability to reproduce is yet-to-be-decided among the scientific community. In short, there is no definitively correct statement as to whether or not viruses truly are "alive", though the technical evidence shows that they are not.
