Notice how everyone against sneakerheads are the same people who wear the exact same pair of converse or vans they had in 6th grade, lol.
If that same pair of converse fits and isn't damaged, what's the justification for spending money and buying new ones?

Anyway, sneakerheads are the worst type of people. It's a class of people who want to spend money on frivolous stuff but are way too below the poverty line to spend money they literally do not have. The fixation on sneakers is because they're the only article of clothing cheap enough where they can buy a 'high-end' piece. Thus, they'll spend $300 on something that literally no one ever looks at or cares about, and they'll act like they're hot stuff for doing it.

I'm willing to bet that farther down below the poverty line, there's even people who will fork out $60 to own top-tier shoelaces that are designed with Persian fabric and flossed through Kanye West's teeth.

I have no idea of a single pair of shoes that can last years without being damaged with daily use.
The same reason why people don't wear the same clothes or use the same toothbrush after a while, even if they still technically work.

Things get dirty beyond cleaning, worn, and odorous, no matter how well you look after them  (if you actually wear them). This is especially if you're wearing this one pair of shoes on a day-to-day basis.

Same reason people don't understand sneakerheads buying $200 shoes that'll dirty up in months, it's the same for any pair of shoes you'd have for 3+ years. If you live above the poverty line, utilize that money to buy a new pair of shoes that aren't.

The thing about brand sneakers if that they gain value over time that generate a profit. Not every sneakerhead buys shoes just to get them dirty, like how you don't buy starwars firgures to take them out the box to play with or collect coins just to spend them.

Lmao the generalization is real. This is like saying all MLP fans yiff together to fan art of loving Rainbow Dash while talking about their pony print or whatever. It isn't true.

Many of the sneakerheads I know are upper middle class people with money to spend. It isn't "frivolous stuff that literally nobody cares about". People care about it, mainly other sneakerheads. This is like saying girls shouldn't do their nails cause "hurr literally nobody cares" while girls are going to compliment girls on their nails.

And the notion that partaking in overpriced merchandise is some new thing that sneakerheads originated is all too uninformed.

Kanye entered the fashion industry with these shoes and his outfits. Now if you didn't know the fashion industry consists of several designers that all have pretty weird-looking stuff that is outrageously overpriced:

http://www.gucci.com/us/home

just to name the popular ones. Ones that pretty much everyone regardless of class buy.

But god forbid someone come into the fashion industry with clothes and shoes that are expensive and look funny. Where would one get that idea?

sneakerheads are another thing i'll never be able to understand, along with beats, and a&f/aeropostle cigarettes

ech they do look pretty ugly imo

It's a hobby, like collecting stamps.

those shoes probably cost a dollar to manufacture

No, let's get back to the facts here. Sneakerheads are teenagers who buy 'rare shoes' for exorbitant prices just to track them through dirt and depreciate their value. There is no universe where this isn't stupid.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that the only reason you're defending them is because you purchased a pair of Kanye's duct tape tennis shoes (or something similar) and have come down with buyer's stockholm syndrome. Either way, I refuse to take this trend any more serious than the hoards of twelve-year-olds who spend hundreds of hours trading TF2 stuff for a measly profit of $5.

You need to also factor in the market value of the children's fingers ripped off by the machinery in the Chinese sweat shops that produce this stuff. I'm sure some of that gets sewn into the fabric every so often.

ralph hits both ends of the spectrum in terms of pricing, actually, i have several polos that cost ~$40 each but ralph also has some that cost $200+
gucci is pretty expensive but i dont think its "weird-looking" (but thats just me)
and personally ive never heard of ferra so idk what to say about that

I go to a private school (think upper middle class to low high class teens with access to their parents wealth and no concept of the value of said wealth) full of these forgeters. I concur.

Hasty generalization. There are people who can both buy valuable shoes and hold on to valuable shoes for profit. This is a thing that happens.
I'm going to go ahead and guess that the only reason you're defending them is because you purchased a pair of Kanye's duct tape tennis shoes (or something similar) and have come down with buyer's stockholm syndrome.
1. You're totally off the mark. Never bought a pair over maybe 70 bucks. Just don't have a problem with those who do.
2. Sneaker sales turn a profit of literally 40 percent.

I don't know what you were trying to do here with these assumptions but if you have some personal vendetta against people who want to wear what they want or collect feet merchandise you should resolve that personally.

You probably got clothes that are out of season. Didn't get them straight from a Polo store or outlet, right? Because a loving shirt will not be below 85 dollars.
gucci is pretty expensive but i dont think its "weird-looking" (but thats just me)

Both only have expensive lines of ugly stuff. I like a lot of it but these are just two brands of the industry.

"Some, such as the Nike shoes designed by Kanye West, go much higher. The "Red Octobers" designed by West fetch, on average, nearly $3,000, according to Campless. The shoe retailed for $245. Nike likely released around 2,000 pairs of the shoes."
So yeah I'd buy these ugly red octobers if I could turn a profit of at least 3k
