yeezys r bad and u should feel bad

Literally no one will care about this fad two years from now.
http://www.businessinsider.com/nike-resell-sneaker-market-brown townysis-2014-10
sneaker resale is on the uprise from the last year and won't b going down any time soon as long as more shoes are released.
These shoes will look basically the same as every other kind of shoe 20 years from now, and no one will buy them for collector value.
Do you have any statistics to back that up?

these are a pair of original AJ 1's from 1985. Looks just like the retro ones they sell at the store.

Seems like a ton of collector's value to me.

Let's see if it gets purchased, then.

are you implying that original Jordans haven't been purchased before?

That was the latest revision to his description/shipping details. His first was the 14th of October. I can't find a date the item has been put up, never really use ebay.

I hope not. Those shoes look basically the same as new tennis shoes, but the pictures literally show that their stuffty vinyl fabric has already cracked everywhere. You'd have to be handicapped to fork out $2k for that.

A better investment is a guitar. Guitars always gain value, and they don't crack and fall apart like stuffty Chinese tennis shoes. $2,000 put into a quality guitar would gain 4x more value than those shoes in the same amount of time.

Aside from the nitpicking this is how the shoe business works.

Is Kanye's red october is 240 and sells at an average of 3k (8k at most) then it'd be a profit of 2760

If you pay 2000 and get 12000 back (somehow) at the same amount you're still short 260 worth in profit relative to a pair of red octobers.
If I could buy and sell 4 red octobers while you buy the guitar i'd still be making more money for less pay, since it's 4x as valuable.

And I thought we were talking about the validity of sneaker sales. Naming a better business is cool and all but it doesn't make buying and selling sneakers impractical.

ebay accumulated $250300 million dollars alone in sneaker sales in the past 12 months

I'm fairly certain that $3,000 shoes are not moving as quickly as you think they are.

How many of those sneakers were purchased for reasonable prices by people wanting to wear something on their feet to protect against rocks, dirt, and sharp objects?

Thats cool but you said you could buy a $350 pair and sell it for $2,000.

I can too, give me 30-40 years.

Who the forget goes to the shoe store nowadays lmao. It's called footlocker.com and get the free shipping on the motha forgeta.
What the forget? Are you crazy? you don't try the shoe on before you buy it? You are absolutely insane.

You said in the same time frame as guitars. Just using your words.

People get their necessities of clothing off of ebay?

I said $2000 bare minimum and that was in reference to the Yeezy boosts, not the Red October shoes.
But ok.

Also can I get some actual evidence of the guitar sales?

Notice how everyone against sneakerheads are the same people who wear the exact same pair of converse or vans they had in 6th grade, lol.

yeah because i don't try to

to make people think you have a lot of money, when in reality you spend most of your welfare check on your stuffty shoes because you're insecure about working at wendys

it's stupid spending that amount of money on loving shoes. they're gonna get dirty regardless.

I said $2000 bare minimum and that was in reference to the Yeezy's, not the Red October shoes.
But ok.
The sneakers you linked to me are 30 years old. How much did they sell for originally? $60 How much would they cost now due to inflation at the original price? $132
So you lose 60 bucks big whoop I guess that point isn't valid. But 30 years. for 3k, and they haven't sold in months. I just don't see how you're making any sense.

As for the $300 mill ebay made on shoes? If I bought a pair for $10 and sold it for $10 thats no profit for me but it looks good in stats that the site sold $10 worth of shoes.

Your logic being? The fact of the matter is that they indeed do sell for a lot more.
I just don't see how you're making any sense.
You fail to make any sort of point as to why sneaker resale is bad business, so the feeling is mutual.

It clearly says sneaker resale market in the article but ok.
But how many of those sales can you account for? Most shoes you will find browsing ebay are brand shoes that are expensive.
also to clear this up it terms of bare averages:

the amount averages at $128 per pair sold. Seems more than just regular buying and selling of regular shoes.
