What you are doing is thinking you are the voice of the people. You aren't.

Even though the Yeezy Boosts are a very polarizing shoe even in the sneakerhead community, they by no means look like trash.

it seriously does. the only reason i could think of for people to wear them is to show off that they have money.

Do you really think everyone wearing a nice pair of shoes is trying to show off?

why else would you spend that much money on shoes?

Yes a big chunk of why people buy shoes like these is to flex in them, but it is also a hobby collecting and trading shoes etc, its like when nerds collect comic books or jocks manage their fantasy league.

why else would you spend that much money on shoes?

Because:
  • Some people like having nice things
  • Some people can afford stuff like these and probably wouldn't want to wear old sneakers
  • Some people like collecting and wearing shoes as a hobby
  • Some people just like how the shoe looks
  • Some people have a disposable income and want to spend money for the sake of spending money

Assuming somebody's trying to be better than you by wearing nice shoes is kind of shallow

everyone that i've seen who spends 150+ dollars on shoes are huge douches. not generalization, i don't think all of them are like that.
