Author Topic: The worst piece of advice you ever recieved  (Read 2359 times)

One day I was pulled aside to be told "It's ok to be normal" and I shouldn't worry about trying to do something important to make the world better...

if you have some piece of advice people have given you that you equally reject, (or find irritating/unapplicable/forced upon you) I would be interested to hear it.

I honostly have no idea what would cause someone to say something as potentially destructive to someone's motivation unless to make themeselves feel better about being outdone in every subject. This had me all up and enraged for the past many years and has been lingering in the back of my head every time I start some new ambitious project, and usually when I give up and throw everything in the trash it's that loving thought going though my head on repeat that I cannot shut up until I give up and down a few beers. I guess that's what it means to be normal.
More recently I was like forget it I dont care anymore what people think and I am trying to be as weird as I was in my younger years where I actually got stuff done, but it's very difficult to break these stupid patterns.

Anyways I was all pissed at this but realized hey im probably not the only person who were imparted a stuffty life morale at some point, so if you have some piece of advice people have given you that you equally reject, (or find irritating/unapplicable/forced upon you) I would be interested to hear it.
I'm not normal at all and I still utterly fail to finish anyth

I was sad one day and Betelgeuse told me to hang myself in a stairwell.

"I'd tell you to be yourself but you'd probably rooster that up too"

thanks mom

"You have no friends, only enemies"

"if you do your math homework, you will pass"

If everyone were "normal", then life would be boring and we never would have nice things.
