Tezuni - Removing Credit from RL / Glorified Paywall

Please show me specifically where Tezuni has claimed that he created Zapk's donation system so that we can rectify the mistake.

i dont think tezuni needs to say any where he claimed it for it to be an issue. when ur hosting like 4 different servers, getting donation money from said servers, all while having original builds, people are just gonna automatically assume he made it even if his name isnt on it. im sure theres tons of ppl out there that know its zapks, but new people/people who dont particuarly care wont, and its the biggest punch in the face having someone get credit for your work. a little mention wouldnt hurt at all

I'm sorry but this is not evidence that Tezuni is plagiarizing work here. The word 'by' in this context means that Tezuni is hosting it. For example, "Marty's Muffin Shop by Godaddy.com".

If he was taking credit for creating the mod, why would he put 'Tezuni.com' instead of 'Tezuni'?

This is an inherent risk regardless of how many labels and watermarks you plaster onto something. I've hosted tons of mods that literally advertise in the welcome message, and people will still ask me whether I've created them. It's not the host's responsibility to make sure that everyone is aware of who made all the content on the server.

this is the scenario i see 90% of the server population interpreting:
"oh, these servers are hosted by a guy named tezuni, and it says made by tezuni.com. this guy must own that website, so this guy must have made rising lava!"

i mean tezunis servers arent necessarily known for having the smartest userbase, so i know most of them arent interpreting this the way you are

and while this is a valid point, it still wouldnt hurt to have some mention some where. sure it isnt the hosts responsibility to make sure people know who made what, but i mean this just boils down to being fair

Once again, the server owner is not responsible for whether the players have sub-par reading skills. What's written in his welcome message does not constitute plagiarism unless you badly misinterpret it, and it's not Tezuni's responsibility to teach players how to read and interpret English.

Let me put it this way: Zapk released this donation framework free and without copyright to the Blockland community. Tezuni has removed some of the branding so that his server provides a more seamless experience. All you guys are complaining about is that some people (ostensibly) may misinterpret the welcome message and think that Tezuni made Zapk's mod. This is just one big, third-party complaint made by a handful of people who had literally no hand in making Zapk's mod.

At this point, it seems like you guys are just grasping at straws because you dislike the people who host the server.

Correction: Zapk made the shop system, and Tezuni modified it to work with donations.

That doesn't really change what I'm trying to say, and now you're just focusing on small details to divert attention from the bigger issue at hand.

i mean i have no connection to any hosts of the server what-so-ever. for all i know tezunis probably a cool af dude (and a certain admin of his thinks im quite the looker ;)), but i mean if a topic is made about it then clearly more than a handful of people think tezuni made it. as a content creator its just a real shame to have even one person think you didnt make something you did, let alone even a handful of people. and yeah every addon here was made for bl with no copyright, but people still freak out when even the smallest misinterpretations are thrown around.

like i said, im fine with everything else thats been pointed out, it was just rustling my jimmes how people were like "who cares if he erases zapk hes a piece of stuff yada yada" i personally think it doesnt matter what you did before, you still deserve a little credit for your work. thats just being a decent human being

All it really takes for a topic to be made is to have one person, who dislikes the server for whatever reason, find something completely obscure and innocuous to publicly denounce and complain about. The fact there's a drama thread does not mean that this is necessarily a valid issue.

As far as this thread goes, Nal switched to complaining about mod authorship because his first complaint about trails and donations was shot down by other people. This is just a case of grade-A straw-grasping.

i guess with the large amount of support at first, i just assumed more poeple believed it was tezunis work, but knowing blf those are probably just people that dont like tezuni lol

my knowledge of anything in this thread literally spans this thread (which is usually why i try to stay out of drama cause i dont have the knowledge to argue, but i was "triggered" as the meme kids say). thats how much i frequent his servers (no offense, not rly my style ya dig?) my original comment was mostly directed to the people in this thread that where all "who cares about zapk". but i still stand by the fact i personally think some in-game recognition would be nice, but yes i get its not tezunis responsibility. the magic of "i personally think" amirite?

He isn't charging anyone anything....
