well, duh, to locate desitination, but it would probably sense that when the coords get "scrambled" (lol), it would be running into cars and trees are would brake.

Prior to the Gulf War, the US military was able to scramble the GPS frequencies for civilian equipment. Basically the coordinates you saw on the GPS were not the true coordinates and eventually people figured out how to undue that and the government gave up on it.

Idk why anyone would trust apple to make a self navigating car. Everyone knows what happened when they made their own map/navigation system, but this time it WILL take you off that pier!

The original Apple Maps sucked ass, it's not that bad now; although not perfect. Also self driving cars would be under rigorous testing and inspection before it even hit the streets, nonetheless be sold to the public.

Apple is working on a selfdriving cars. Knowing Apple's conflict with Google, Apple will probably use Apple Maps. We're all forgeted.

Self driving cars run off built in sensors like cameras, radar, etc.

i can slash somebody's tires or mess around with the brakes, hell i can brick the loving engine if i had physical access to the car and a few tools. the problem that you think is there isn't relegated to just automated cars.

There are lots of models of cars out there that have gone completely electronic, that is, software controls the steering, brakes, accel, etc. I believe there have been several ted talks (not sure if many people know about them, they're pretty cool) talking about how every single one they've come across they've been able to hack into and remotely control the car

And the reason that's the case is because there's absolutely no way to stop an attacker that has physical access to said machine, from tampering with it and putting a remote control unit on it.

That's all I'm saying.

i mean to be fair it is actually a reason and it logically follows to some extent even though a self-driving car would be quite a bit more complex than a navigation system

i don't think it's very fair to dismiss someone's thoughts as being an empty vessel to push some arrogant agenda. it's esp not fair to then make quick asessments about their character from that assumption
