Author Topic: Medieval Engineers is out on early access now  (Read 3300 times)

where's the "this is a cash grab!!!!!!" mob now?
I still think it's not right for them to put out an early access game while they have another game in early access already. The point is that they have made a commitment to the people who bought space engineers and should be putting all of their effort into finishing that game over making a new one. Just because they still have frequent updates doesn't mean anything because if they were putting the effort that they are putting into this new game, instead into space engineers they would undoubtedly finish it quicker.

Now I'm not saying this game is bad either, as it looks very interesting and I will probably buy it when it gets released.
Well they've said in the past that this isnt taking away from Space Engineers. They've been hiring members and have a separate team dedicated to Medieval Engineers, iirc.

do not buy early access games
Normally id agree but I trust this developer. They've had constant updates on Space Engineers and havent had anything to take away my trust.

There was an update today but I can't find any dang patch notes

probably a really insignificant one that bashed one or two bugs

The developers of Space Engineers and Medieval Engineers happens to be a very trustful company, I got Space Engineers before it had half the stuff it does now. I do not regret it.

The fact that they never miss update days and always listen to the fans to at least consider their ideas is what sets Keen apart from most developers I know. Atmosphere and planets were nothing but speculation and hopeful wishes the same time last year, but now it's happening.

I was just saying that if instead they used the resources they had fully on space engineers it would get done quicker and then it would be alright to start another project, but now they will just had two games sitting in early access for a long while. I'm not saying that the progress that they have made on their games is bad though, I just wish they wouldn't hinder their potential by doing what they are doing.

If it's anything like the development of Space Engineers, their updates will be on this channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCChcFgm67v5tBdRbeBgC8XA/videos

I am so excited for atmosphere and planets, when that happens it'll be amazing!

Ight so I just bought it this morning and its pretty fun. But as I think someone else has said, its pretty barebones right now. Id probably wait to buy it if you're on the fence.

Yeah, I watched someone's video-review/introduction, and it did seem a little thin at the moment.
But hopefully it goes places.
I'm not ready to buy just yet, but it might be an eventual purchase of mine.

looks good but i will never forgive keen software for miner wars 2081

dont worry they changed their ways, it was only a phase of stuff

Something I like is being able to create terrain. My only issue with it so far is that there really isnt a smoothing tool. So creating mountains takes quite a bit longer than it should.

COUGH COUGH MINER WARS COUGH COUGH COUGH

i like space engineers and KSH, but honestly, they forgeted up with miner wars. big time.

i bought it and it was a total waste of money. i've been nervous that space engineers will soon be dropped out of their development just like they did miner wars, but i've been pretty happy with the weekly updates.

saying this company is perfect is a total delusion on your part, though
