This is not true at all. Raising minimum wage does not directly correlate with inflation. Have you ever taken an economics course or are you making assumptions?
I didn't say inflation. I said it'll cost business owners more money, and in order to compensate for the extra money they're spending on employees, they will raise the prices of their products that YOU consume, which affects you, making it seem like your dollar isn't as useful as it once was.

I think that $7.25 is a ridiculously small amount to pay someone. I don't think that the minimum wage should be a livable wage, however some people make wrong choices -- and you cannot make expect financial literacy from three hundred million citizens. You also don't want to drive more businesses out of America though, as we've already driven tons out because of our 30% corporate tax. The average college tuition in America is well above $20,000, minimum wage cannot pay that off, especially when you factor in the cost of living and general bills. Out of all high performing countries with high GDP's, which are first world and developed- America has the lowest minimum wage. (BTW Singapore doesn't have a set minimum wage).

No, if minimum wage is increased, then prices shall increase, and the worth of the dollar shall fall. It would only feed inflation.

The US Dollar is one of the few currencies which has remained stable for decades. Raising the minimum wage wouldn't cause inflation, that is if you don't just raise it like that. Take a look at this:

It is healthy economically to gradually raise the minimum wage.

i think we should go to a currency of hats

If only we returned the gold standard..

What's the lighter blue in the back?
I believe that's inflation-adjusted.

Have either of you ever taken an economics class? This is one of the most common assumptions people make about minimum wage and why it shouldn't be raised. Raising minimum wage in no way relates to raise in prices, inflation, what ever the forget you want to call it.

yes make minimum wage high enough so that i can save up for a personal football field to purchase by the end of the year and then never use it because i don't care about football

then rename the country to Big Bucks Island doesn't matter if it's actually an island

yes.

So you're saying joe blow should be making 15 bucks an hour flipping burgers on a grill? Absolutely not. Minimum wage is there for unskilled jobs. If companies need skilled workers, the workers would demand the amount they deserve and the company wouldn't be in business if they only hired at min wage because nobody would work there for a stuffty income.

so r u sayin unskilled people deserve to be poor...

idk if i agree with that sentiment PERSONALLY but i'm probs misunderstandin...
