I'm not a medical professional, and I'm not sure why you'd take offense to that, (I wasn't implying anything) all I know is that diabetes can cause serious debilitating pain under certain circumstances.

No, I just get annoyed when people can't distinguish between the two types. Or make some dumb-ass comment about it like "Are diabetics on a special diet?"

these two are pretty much the same thing. if you do wanna be pedantic about it and say they're not, then HIV shouldn't be in the list anyway
furthermore, it's not painful on its own, and certainly not deadly. the medication for it is pretty expensive, though

If the Death with Dignity act did become legal nation wide it would still follow under the same eligibility and precautions that go along with it. Such as the eligibility for the Death with Dignity act is for terminally-ill patients that have 6 or less months to live, so not everyone can ask a physician for the medication even if they are suffering from some diseases.
