Diabetes should warrant Self Delete?
I don't know how bad it gets, but uncontrolled diabetes can cause nerve damage in the extremities (which can lead to a need to amputate), and also puts a sufferer at risk of heart attack (and I think stroke), as well as a general sickness.

I don't know if it leaves people in similar grueling near-death situations like cancer, motor-neurone diseases or alzheimers (which frequently leave people wanting euthenasia), but plenty of people die due to diabetes.

Yeah but in what I would guess to be at least 95% of cases, there is treatment to help the pain and lessen the symptoms. It's not like a lot of people are classified as terminal with a diabetes diagnosis.

The only thing diabetes does is inhibit your insulin.

Type 1 diabetes are born with useless a pancreas.

Type 2 diabetes are morons who ate enough bullstuff to inhibit their insulin.

Where's the problem? Insulin gives glucose and lipids access to the cells. No insulin, no energy in the cells.
Now, a very high glucose concentration in your blood will eventually kill you, same with the lack of energy in your cells. Your brain needs energy constantly and by constantly I mean that if a single neuron runs out of energy, it instantly dies, unlike cells which become acetonic until the situation is regularized. Not only that, high amount of lipids in your blood can eventually clot the vessels, bursting them or giving you a heart attack.

INJECT THAT INSULIN, MOTHERforgetERS!

No, of course not.
And I don't know how diabetes kills (besides heart attack), so I don't know what the quality of life is for someone dying with it.

But the point isn't how many people ever get to being terminal. Calling for euthenasia isn't saying to stop treating people or researching. That tiny amount who do get so sick to want death should have the choice to die on their own terms.

The point of euthenasia is to help those who no longer want treatment to achieve a dignified and comfortable death that they have come to terms with.

Diabetes doesn't kill. It's a way of saying that either your pancreas is a decoration or your insulin is too weak. The consequences of useless/lack of insulin is what kills you.

so in short: yes. everyone go and help each other kill themselves right now.

No, of course not.

A way diabetes can kill you is if your blood sugar gets to low. (like, 10) You could slip into a coma and die.

Well yes, but that's just semantics really.

No one has died from AIDS, because that's just a deficiency in your immunity system. You die from the consequences of a lack of immune response. Which means you die from any sort of infection.

But we still say people die from AIDS, because they wouldn't have died if they didn't have AIDS.
People die from Diabetes because their death was a result of having diabetes.

Or consider, "he didn't die from a car crash, he died from his skull shattering and piercing his brain".

No, anyone can die from that. Silly Red Spy.

What people suffering diabetes can die from is very high blood sugar.

What people suffering diabetes can die from is very high blood sugar.
ah yes, that's why their blood is so good on pancakes

What people suffering diabetes can die from is very high blood sugar.
Well technically anyone can die if their blood sugar is too high.

Well technically anyone can die if their blood sugar is too high.
Except that a healthy human will produce enough insulin for all of it to enter their cells. The excessive sugar will be turned into fat via the Krebs cycle, making you a fatass.

Diabeetus people will die from what I mentioned before if their sugar gets too high.
