Author Topic: Im requesting a Modding team For a weapons pack.  (Read 1671 times)

I can do sounds, but what kind of sounds are you looking for? I could just grab a gunshot sound from a sound library and call it a day, but you gots 2 be more specific.
I wasnt specific on sounds because im handling that, all i need are models with animations.

I'm pretty sure you can find most of those weapons already made on some sort of RTB archive.

You can find about half but they are not themed the way i want them.

Here is the thing.

First of all it's a voluntary project.  Second of all its another realistic weapon pack.  Seriously how many of these have been made already?  If you want to grab attention and spark interest, you should do something that hasn't been done, especially not milked dry.

There has been no realism packs, there all competitive. BKT (Blockombat) has some realistic features but lacks the Animations and realistic fire rates, effects etc. You cannot tell me H&K is realistically designed. TS weapons were MADE for competitive servers. Warfare was like BKT, it had some realistic features but not all the ones that would actually make a convincing pack.

Look, Realism especially combat wise has not been milked dry, nor has it been milked, the gutters have only been TOUCHED by a couple people, who then decided not to take the risk due to the exact argument your putting up with me. Let some people give this a shot.

Im not giving up.

if i could model or script i would help

Lol, paying for Blockland mods.
Id rather buy another game.

Ftfy.

OT:  There's another side of "realistic" as well that comes into play, and that is practicality and aesthetic.  Another reason why introduction of realism will not work in Blockland is because 1) realistic models will not be aesthetically pleasing.  If you try to pursue realism in the weapons, you would do well to try to imitate realism with builds, playertypes, vehicles, and other content, and at that point, the game is pretty much no longer Blockland, and because Blockland has engine setbacks and inadequate physics for "realism", you should probably choose a different game to play where realism fits better.  In addition, such a change within Blockland would be much more work that it's worth.  2) If you want practicality on top of realism, your best option would likely be to find the closest pack to realism that fits aesthetically to the Blockland style, such as the BF3 pack, and just edit it so that it is realistic.

The thing is, you're setting up unrealistic expectations for Blockland.  This has been discussed over and over because of these reasons.  I am not going to say any more on the matter, and I will not make any attempts to hinder production of this pack.  I wish you well in your production of this pack, as I cannot deny, there is a demand for this kind of content within Blockland.

Good luck.

you're asking for someone to spend several hours making something for you with no kind of reward or anything
at an hour per model, which is a low estimate, it would be at least thirty hours. more than one full day of time

if you don't have the money to pay someone, you're better off just learning to model yourself. or just get your friends to do it, apparently they've made you a total of over 45 models already, so why not ask them??

I would, trust me this topic would not even exist if i had friends to work on this with, its jsut that my Freind Deadeye isworking on Models for a pack that me and him are doing, and bangbang, is Busy, like really busy. So yea the whole reason why i started this is to
Find somebody that wants to contribute to blockland and shares similar interests, so maybe we can form a team, develop friendship, and release to the public our creations.

Well what quality would you get for $10/model and how much time on average would it take?  Seems kinda steep if it's just your average generic blocky model, even if it does have animations.  Now unless this is like a service you offer anyways and you are using this as a self-employed method of income, I understand, but to be something done on the side it seems too much.

if he wants the weapons to be realistic, we probably aren't talking about T+T stuff
to be something done on the side it seems too much.
that's irrelevant. it doesn't matter whether or not it's your day job, you should be paid for the work you do
