I try to hit VTOL-1 again, by doing the same stuff I did last time.

Bell deploys two salvos of flares and attempts to bank the plane to avoid getting hit in the engines. She makes a mental note of the CIWS's position in emplacement 2 and starts planning out her gun run.

VTOL-2 gives chase, shooting a heatseeker your way and following up with a salvo of pulse laserfire.

I fire a JSM into the face of the VTOL and turn away.

It returns fire with its MMS-12 and attempts to break off, only to get hit with the JSM and explode. At least this time you have the flares and structural integrity to deal with this problem.

I try to hit VTOL-1 again, by doing the same stuff I did last time.

VTOL-1 evades your missile by doing the exact same thing it did last time.

Viggen-2 begins moving again, trying to get around the first plane's flaming wreck.

I drop three flares and maneuver to make a run on the second AA emplacement.

Walt turns and bears down on VTOL-2 dumping LCP into its flank.

Bell dumps a salvo of flares and bears down on the intact Viggen with her guns, using the wreckage as a reference point. She turns her head to see Crash preparing for a run on the second emplacement.

"Make sure you hit that CIWS first, I can follow up after I'm done with this Viggen."

I drop three flares and maneuver to make a run on the second AA emplacement.

The airframe shudders as two or so missiles still manage to reach you, but the damage is minor. As you approach the AA emplacement, you notice that the SAM turrets are tracking you.

Walt turns and bears down on VTOL-2 dumping LCP into its flank.

They bank hard to try to get away from the onslaught, but are unable to turn their LCP chin gun your way to return fire.

The SAMs are distracted with Crash's approach at the moment, and are not paying attention to you. In addition, Walt has temporarily driven off the VTOL that was pursuing you. The Viggen has made its way around the wreck to the runway, but is still not moving fast enough to avoid a strafing run.

Jaakko fires a AGM at the CRAM, then releases the cluster bomb.


I had a loving dream that I lived in the ABS FIESTA world. I know for sure this run was in the dream and for some reason the cluster bomb only had eight to twelve submunitions. The CBB drop did pretty bad in my dream iirc.

Jaakko fires a AGM at the CRAM, then releases the cluster bomb.

The CRAM shoots down the cluster bomb before being destroyed by the AGM. A handful of bomblets scatter over the area, but don't do as much damage as they could have. The two SAM turrets fire one missile each at you.

Bell opens fire on the Viggen with both of the GAUs and breaks away at the end of the strafing run.

The Viggen crashes and burns in the middle of the runway.

I continue firing at the VTOL with my cannon fire.

The VTOL uses its unique set of flight characteristics to hold in place, forcing you to overshoot. It takes a severe pounding for attempting this, but it is now behind you.

The VTOL being pursued by Walt cuts its speed drastically and maneuvers to take him head on.
