Jaakko apologizes to Yukamo about the dogs' surprise appearance.

Gus breaks off and heads towards the ground battle, attempting not to hit any buildings on the way there.
You are now in range of the ground battle.

I pull off of the road and vow to never ever loving do that again.
No significant ground fire is directed your way, but I mean you did sort of leave the task unfinished.

Bell blasts away at the cruiser's port levitation array with three AGMs.
Gravity once again reigns supreme as the cruiser starts dropping onto the bridge.

One of the IFVs halts briefly to launch a missile at the allied position, missing its mark only because the allied crew saw it coming and threw it in reverse just before it was too late.

Gus continues the perilous weaving between buildings to get a dual LCP shot on an IFV.

"Careful! If the wrong cruiser goes down you're going to limit the 45th's options on exiting the city!"

Tippy focuses in and dives in again gunning for the leading IFV, the cannons heavy thump rattles through her roosterpit.

"stuff, I'll try to slow the descent."

Bell continues her run, decreasing her altitude and firing off another three AGMs at the former central array, which she hopes will help slow down the cruiser's fall slightly. (or blast apart the ship, whichever one works.)

One after the other, you dive on the hapless armored vehicles and tear them apart.

The missiles neither destroy the cruiser nor slow it down, and it crashes down through the bridge and into the river, making two out of the four lanes inaccessible.
: Well that certainly complicates things, but thanks anyway, I think. Someone let us know if enough bridge is left for us to get back across.

Jaakko apologizes to Yukamo about the dogs' surprise appearance.
Yukamo reluctantly accepts Jaakko's apology.

Also, future reference, and I suppose I should put this in the OP as well: The default squad size for future missions will be 5, first come first served. Big things like this drag on too long if I'm not prepared to handle that many players.

The maglev dirigible punches straight through the southern span and plummets into the water below, showing the area with debris and creating quite a spectacle. Richard raises his visor and does a low 'n slow flyby of the bridge to inspect the damage.

"It looks like the northern span of the bridge is still intact, but I can't tell if it's safe."

Richard checks the nav display and searches for the next nearest bridge leading north.

Jaakko returns to his room and throws himself on his bed. Without much else to do, he quickly nods off to sleep.

Gus pulls back on the stick, getting out of the buildings. He turns around and dives down the precarious route again, sights set on the last IFV.

Jaakko looks at the building in front of him. A large brick structure reminiscent of his high school. The flight school has a runway behind it. While inside he is called into a spare gym for PT.

The PT group consists of old classmates and old squadron mates. The group is led through auxiliary rooms that Jaakko'd never seen before. The rooms appear to be old and relegated to storage. They lead to a pair of conjoined gyms, with wooden floors and aged furnishings. Jaakko gets an odd feeling, seeing this area was new to him despite its existence being oddly unknown to him.

Something beckons the group outside, and Jaakko catches glimpse of a familiar face, of a person he had talked to but never seen in real life. It's a girl with firey red hair. He races her way and calls her by name. She glances and smiles awkwardly, then looks away in embarrassment. He tries to get the girl to look at him, elated at finally meeting her.  The awkward confrontation is broken up by an authority figure looking to stop a confrontation. Jaakko runs from the blacktop and through the suburbs in late afternoon. He arrived at the train station too late, and only gets a parting wave from the girl he had met from the first time. The train raced by, and he gave a parting wave. It zoomed by making a turn. They exchanged a parting wave.

Night had fallen and Jaakko watched the train speed by.

He watches as the train speeds down the track, and derails and rolls into a chasm that ran parallel to the track.

Jaakko wakes up, less than fifteen minutes has past. He felt disturbed by the dream. His stomach had sunken with the cruel feeling of fear over the loss of contact with friends, and the fear of the loss of that girl.

He contemplates it for a few minutes, but bordem causes him to start nodding off again.

Bell scouts out the bridge, from west (?) to east now that the skies are clear.

The next nearest bridge is at least a mile away.

Bell scouts out the bridge, from west (?) to east now that the skies are clear.
Around the middle of the bridge, the two eastbound lanes abruptly end where the cruiser crashed through them. The westbound side is still partially intact, at the very least wide enough for the tanks to drive across as long as they go it single-file.

Gus pulls back on the stick, getting out of the buildings. He turns around and dives down the precarious route again, sights set on the last IFV.
Ordinarily ending your first run and beginning your next would require a turn between the two, but in the interest of time I'll let this one happen immediately.

Gus finishes off the last IFV in one group, and the tanks wipe out the other.
: Looks clear enough from here, now let's get the hell out. How's that bridge looking?

"There's enough room for you guys to cross the bridge single-file, we'll have to provide overwatch to make sure you don't get ambushed there."
