I had a dream last night that Jaakko's fenrir got absolutely forgeted by a single shot from an imperial slug cannon fired from an aircraft.

Was pretty pissed that he'd have to eject.
you assume that he'd get to eject

Tippy opens her notebook for the very first time in a long time and begins to doodle in it once again. When old habits come back, they come back with a vengeance.

The constant stopping and starting of the vehicle makes for a rather irritating drawing experience, but before you know it the car's parked and you're up in Aiori's apartment. It's a lot tidier than it was when you last visited, what with about half of everything being put away and boxed up.

the weirdest part is i dont think you're the first, or even the second person to have dreams about internet lego airplane rpgs

I've had a couple dreams about browsing forum games and seeing the ABS thread, typically with full blown updates and responses

mostly daydreams, it makes reading the actual thread very very strange for the first couple moments

Tippy notices the toaster still sitting on the counter and remembers the back-up note she had written for Yukamo all that time before. She waits till K-man looks away and plucks the letter from behind the toaster and pockets it.

"Wow, you really cleaned this place up."

Her eyes wander to the couch where she had talked to Yukamo. It was dusty and leaning up against the wall ready for the movers. Tippy gets that tired and sad look yet again.

"Wow, you really cleaned this place up."
: Yeah, it's a lot of work for one person. I know you've probably got things to get back to, but if you can stay and help I'd appreciate it.

"I wouldn't mind one bit!" Tippy says, lightening up a little.

Jaakko and his mother return to Odesza. The train pulls in to the stations by the steel mill a couple hours after nightfall. Snow falls at a light rate and the winds are eerily calm. The streets are somewhat busy with the shift change and men heading to bars.

The pilot and his mother return to their small cottage. Jaakko watches the lights of the steel mill glow across town. He lays in his bed and thinks about his accomplishments thus far, reflecting on his interactions with his squadron members and Raiden. He feels conflicted and foolish mostly. His mind drifts towards his new position as CO, and he finds that he is somewhat unsure of his own ability to lead effectively. He resolves to try his damnedest not to get anybody killed.

Talko gets up and lays his head on Jaakko's bed. Jaakko looks at him, and the dog cranes upward and starts climbing on to the bed, practically forcing Jaakko over, but he doesn't mind the company.

"I wouldn't mind one bit!" Tippy says, lightening up a little.
He goes to get some food from the refrigerator.
: Thank you. Oh, the rifle is in the bedroom, by the way.

Tippy takes a quiet step through the door of the room. The bedroom hadn't been packed yet and a lot of Yukamo's things sat there frozen in time. The rifle sat on her bed still keeping a well cleaned finish on its metallic surface.

Tippy picks up the rifle and inspects it closely.

I just noticed you've factored guns into the RNG, very nice

Jaakko and his mother return to Odesza.

much respect for that choice in ambient

Apart from what you'd normally expect to find in someone's room, there are a number of religious books on her dresser; some Kintharian, some Aesthian, and even a copy of the Exodite holy text.

Side-loading (must suck to be a leftie in the imperium); wood furnishing on the stock, grip, and foregrip; chambered for 7.92x57mm; double-headed Aquila indicates it was made over 34 years ago. Has clearly been very well maintained, as it still looks brand new save for some wear on the wood and some of the finer detailing in the metal having lost its definition.

Jaakko wakes up in a cold sweat from a nightmare about the base raid. His heart aches and it seems to him as if he has done something to spite the gods, and as such they give him no rest.

He turns on the radio and hears a dead-of-night ultra-right winger tin foil hat wearing talk show host talk about how Huitzitlaotani is atomizing itself and the end is nigh. It does nothing to calm his nerves. He turns the radio off and lays in his bed petting Talko, who has forced him up against the wall.

He concedes to himself that he probably has some level of PTSD from the base raid.

Markus begins to walk around base, making a detailed mental map as he goes. The incident with the Helian drone is still stuck in his mind, and he finds himself wondering what the hell that last weapon was (an incinerator of some sort?), and how the hell that one Porlaqi outmaneuvered eight missiles. He concludes that he does not want to have to fight it again, whatever it was, and continues trying to work out how the Porlaqi evaded, giving up and dismissing it as a fluke.
Then he remembers who manufactures drones like that in the first place.
Oh. Right. We're fighting exclusively on our home front now. At least here we're close to home.
He dismisses the thought, and continues looking around base.

Oh. Right. We're fighting exclusively on the Zentragoth front now.
*aesthian front
gothic front would imply you are fighting on the imperial home continent
