A lie on his part. Being left in the dark was a matter of trust, perhaps, and was not surprising. He held no seat of significance other than being a member of an ace squad deployed in tandem with them at the time. Unfortunately, he had barely said a word to any other Raiden member, so the chances of hearing from anyone else were comparably slim. Additionally, he had heard nothing of significant further engagements, so what had occurred in those few months would remain a mystery.
An inkling of these thoughts seeps into Gus's face in the split second following his response. With something of a curt nod and an affirmative mumble he continues on towards the hangars, arriving at his own. He stops to observe the aircraft for some time before leaning up against the hangar door, staring out into the noon day airbase.
