"Felt like I got shot in the stomach. Blacked out and the next thing I know I'm wired up here. Rhab-" Gus fumbles the word and looks over at the doctor, hoping he will elaborate.

Jaakko puts down any apprehension by justifying he need's Rikard's guidance if he is to become a more capable leader, as is his responsibility.

"Colonel Zolnerowich?"

The doctor explains the condition to the people gathered around gus. Except Ellie. That girl just straight up left.
: That was not uncommon back home. Too many emotionally fragile egomaniacs trying to outdo each other.
: How bad is it?

Once again, the doctor explains the situation. His kidneys were damaged to the point where a tissue transplant was needed. The surgery was successful, and he just needs some time to recover (and to be mindful so it doesn't happen again).

"Colonel Zolnerowich?"
Kommandant is in the common room with the rest of his squadron (sans Eremit), and they all appear to be winding down from whatever morning routine he had them do.
: Need something?

Yui finds a nurse and asks them where Gus is.

"It probably didn't help that the PAK FA took an HDR shot an the nose." Gus is reminded of the mock demonstration he had seen. He much prefers this to being simultaneously melted and set on fire.

He rubs the surgery scars delicately. Two small lines of stiches, perhaps two inches across each, covered by a gauze wrap. He half-smiles to himself, thinking of the martial art students in the gyms back home with their prized colored belts.

"At least your Airframe didn't fall apart on you, I feel as if hyperions will be a lot more trouble for us later on. Thankfully they are the only aircraft that seem to wield HDR's."

"Sir, I came with a request. Is it possible that I could receive mentorship in regards to squad leading? And I wish to take your instruction to improve my own flying," Jaakko says, "Because it is my obligation to my squadmates,"

Jaakko stands upright and loosely at attention.

: At ease, Major.

He takes a moment to gather his thoughts.
: Mentorship, eh? When would you want to start?

: HDR? What's that?

"Helian death ray, I settle for saying HDR as it sounds less goofy. I wouldn't call the damage it can do 'goofy' though, once it hits your aircraft it will eat through the armour, I wouldn't know how exactly it works but it's not something I want to toil with."

Yui heads to Gus's room, hearing the tail end of the conversation about the HDR.

tippy sits on a concrete barrier near a hangar beating her boots against it trying to kill time.

"When ever it is convenient for you to work with me, I would appreciate it," Jaakko replies.

"I think I've forgotten to do something so I must be going, I'll see you guys later. Hope you're back at it again soon Gus."

Walter motions a casual salute towards Gus and then turns to head out the door back towards the hangers

Tippy remains sitting on the concrete barrier. Her boots have now left black marks from the repeated beating.

Walter spots Tippy sitting nearby and decides to stop by to chat on his way to the hanger.

"Having fun there?"
